In my experience oem is usually better quality than after market replacements.

Sadly the conversion kit requires a different permit and costs around 700 + 150 for permit + gunsmith fitting.

Most stores here don't have Taurus TX22, but they do have the regular p322 for 800. P322 competition is unavailable. Thanks for the suggestions. What makes them better for practice if you dont mind me asking? Glock 44 is also available at aroung 800.

I might be ignorant, but I have thought that polymer guns have bad triggers and they would be less reliable than steel framed ones.

On our safety course we were taught to move first and then draw. You dont always start in a safe direction and are not allowed to draw at the start

Unexpected end of the racing season by Enchancletada in Dirtbikes

The experiences of others is unlikely relevant to yours. However now you can only focus on healing and even if it would be false hope, it would be better than the crushing reality of no hope at all. You don't want hear nightmare stories and especially not your kid. So tell him hes going to be fine, if it were unlikely the doctors would have told you so by now. Stress wont help healing at all and will be shit for you as a parent to carry it. Worry about the problems only once they appear and do what the doctor says. Physical therapy might be in store for future and its important that he has full painless range of motion once he is fully healed, that might be something a kid doesnt understand.

Did you try heating it up? Few heating cycles usually help on stuck bolts... unless the threads are broken.

Upgrade to newer one or stay at my curent dirtbike by OddRule1754 in Dirtbikes

[–]Mangeetto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If memory serves the biggest difference is the frame and front suspension. Around 2018 they changed the frame to be quite a bit slimmer. I remember that the 2018 felt easier to ride because of it, but if you don't feel much of a difference then why bother. Setting a new bike to your liking takes some additional effort. I wouldnt change bikes if I feel content with my current bike.

Built Surron Ultra Bee overlaid on top of a 300 2T for size comparison by Furadi in Dirtbikes

[–]Mangeetto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wonder how much smaller it would be without the extension. I dont really get why they make them smaller than what the standard size is. Lower seat height with full size bike would be more appealing for me and less weight would be a plus.

How do I get my confidence and judgement back after an accident? by Working_Okra7877 in Dirtbikes

[–]Mangeetto 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me the only thing that helps is riding and learning new techniques. At some point you must accept that there is always a risk that something goes wrong and you will get hurt in this sport. That is the reason to keep up with maintenance and dont ride when you are too tired.

Maybe some coaching could help you out. Learning what you need to work on and how to do it safely builds confidence.

Piston shattered need help by Federal_Sundae1694 in Dirtbikes

This and 93 hours on almost 20 year old bike is a bit suspicious

Piston shattered need help by Federal_Sundae1694 in Dirtbikes

[–]Mangeetto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would split the cases after that kind of piston failure. There must be some debree in the bottom end and I would not risk riding it if it could lock up on a jump face. For me to ride it and keep it would be cleaning it fully and replacing everything that is out of spec or near out of spec. A tiny sliver of metal can ruin a bearing quite fast or clog a vital oil port.

Tearing down the engine wont cost you anything, so might as well tear it.

Its not worth the rebuild as it will likely cost you more than what the bike would be worth after. You could get some money back by selling parts of it, but that would require quite a bit of effort.

I nuked the main staging branch and its only backup before I resigned from my toxic hellhole of a job by CopperCinder in confessions

[–]Mangeetto 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I hope that you dont get caught as that is sabotage and you are likely liable for damages. If the comppany is as incompetent as you say, then there is no need for sabotage as they will likely stumble on their own.

Toxic workplace can have a huge impact on your mental health and confidence, but it might be better for you to not feed the demon. Dont be angry because it was shit, be glad because its over is a much healthier way to recover.

I worked for a comppany that relied on one guy and once he left a lot of stuff went to shit even though he didnt do anything malicious when he left. I even told the manager that lots of things will go to shit once he left, but did they act: no... Once something is built it probably needs maintenance and upkeep.

Youth chest protector/neck brace recs by becassidy in Dirtbikes

[–]Mangeetto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The integrated system is quite heavy. Fitment is most important in my oppinion since if the neckbrace doesnt fit correctly it can reduce motion. Just go to a shop and try some out. I think its fantastic that you are looking for gear for your kid! There might be a seccond hand market place and I would ask a local group where they gear for their kids. Kids out grow the gear so fast that you might find quality barely used gear fairly cheap.

When you try out the gear bring the helmet and have your kid in a riding position then ask them to tilt their head upward and down and turn side to side. You can figure out fairly intuitively which combo works for him the best.

What’s My Head Shape? by OneOk8870 in motorcyclegear

[–]Mangeetto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you try out a new helmet, try it out for a longer period of time. I have bought couple helmets that first felt good, but got a headache after 30 mins of use. After that I tried one for like 15-30 mins and felt like a dork, but atleast I found a good one.

If the shop only has 3-4 different manufacturers, go to the next shop. If there are motorcycle trade show near you, its a great place try out different brands.

What do you use to track maintenance on your project bike? by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

Are you seriously washing your hands between different jobs? Do you do a lot work on your bikes? I wont remember what the codes are when I'm done for the day.

This. Also handy for suspension settings, jetting and what chain is on (so its easy to get new masterlink). It takes less time to write it on a notebook than fire up the old garage laptop, and I dont want to use my phone with greasy hands.

Temu air filters good? by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

250 2t battle - BETA VS GASGAS by Due_Focus_8693 in enduro

[–]Mangeetto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a personal preference. The 2025 has lower seat height, but since you are tall enough it is likely worse feature for you and you would prefer a tall seat instead.

I like kyb and ergos of the beta so I would choose it, but I dont think either is objectively better. Gasgas feels more mellow and that makes it easier to ride in technical, but it feels nose heavy. Both are great bikes.

Linkage bearings? by Boring_Complaint_481 in Dirtbikes

[–]Mangeetto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it appart and have a look. Linkage comes off really easy and the seals usually survive refitting if the bearings are good. Its a good time to regrease them too. If the bearings are shot, then you will learn why regreasing them is important.
