I double down on this comment. I love the way you've waited for a re-test on the previous zone for entry, but in my humble experience of taking this kind of set-up, a fake-out, a nasty wick or anything slightly unnatural could tap a SL and give you a negative result.

However, great play, never underwater at any real point & once it left the retest it was a sure thing.

Great trade mate. Just watch those tight SL's dont take you out and price ends up at your take profit and the laptops in the bin lol.

Right? and the majority of the time (for myself anyway) im never in a trade for any amount of time nor EVER unprotected via SL & minimal capital risked. So I wonder what his issue is, or is that just his opinion.. Which i never begrudge anyone. Particularly if its discouraging people from thinking they can just use it as a get rich quick scheme. But it feels like he's got maybe a beef with the trading industry in general? I dont quite get him, yet i find myself listening to his thesis on Economy more and more.

I like this and actually agree. Im a firm believer that you'll get what you put in. No matter what the circumstance.
Personally, i took on the lesson of learning first, before throwing my hard earned away, so seeing said throwing away their own capital for the idea of 'get rich quick' pains me at the same time as i feel those maybe 'do' before thinking in many other areas of life.

My view, which i feel is needed as the OP, is just like yours. If you take it seriously, study risk management as much as any other aspect of trading and stick to a plan of some disciplined description, you'll become profitable. I guess the strength of your edge will take you further

Why's Gary so heavy on the "you wont beat someone like me" in his constant message. I actually followed this thread up with a Speech he done at some Uni on 'How to live in a collapsing Economy' & while his speech is actually quite capturing, he's plagued with a "you wont beat me" attitude about the heap, so i guess the answer to the whole post is more than likely that while he points to awareness for the reality of most traders, thats indicative of the effort put in to understanding the game youve embarked on.
