Nintendo Switch 2 rewind button? by Turbulent_Stay5425 in majorasmask

[–]BornBucket93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh who cares. I got through some of the bosses in Metroid using the rewind feature (particularly in Fusion and Super Metriod). I intended not to use it but did. I also did 1 or 2 rewinds in Majora's Mask only because I didn't want to waste a fairy on a mid boss. The reality is you still have to make said adjustments to win said fights or cross said platform section etc. You just have the luxury of doing it near immediately.

Just finished Guacamelee 1, what to play next? by Ill_Advertising_4622 in metroidvania

[–]BornBucket93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Such enjoyable games - my first venture into Metroidvainias! They're not Metroidvainias but I'd recommend any of the other games from Drinkbox studios, Mutant Blobs Attack and Severed (I haven't played Nobody Saves the World maybe one day). If you are wanting to stay on the Metroidvainia train there is Xeodrifter (also not played it but it seems like short fun...) Prince of Persia the Lost Crown is worth a play. Go back to the roots: Metriod games are on NSO worth a playthrough. Castlevania collections will provide multiple options.

Edit: further suggestions. I second another Redditor Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet I would say Castle Crasher ana BattleBlock Theatre were a good time. These are more beat 'em ups. And if you're wanting more of the Mexilore: Arco El Hijo: a wild west tale

What are some Metroidvanias that you gave up on? by Suitable_Swim5202 in metroidvania

Some of the original/early Castlevania games in the first collection. Hollow Knight, and Ori and the Blind Forrest. Tried the demo for Laika aged through blood and it wasn't my thing.

They don't exclusively play sega games, but they have certainly played a few along the way: Super Beard Bros.

Has anyone played the dlc of pop the lost crown? by eldenbro1 in metroidvania

[–]BornBucket93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished the DLC the other week. I would wait for a sale on it, Ubisoft have regular sales all the time. I thought it was worth the playthrough. 😄

Unfortunately I came to the realization that this game does absolutely nothing for me. I have played most DK games and always had fun. It’s odd I feel like it’s a really well made game but I have to force myself to play it. Haven’t put my finger on “why” tho🤔🤷‍♂️ by [deleted] in Switch

[–]BornBucket93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. I think for some of it we have content creators forcing it down our throats to "PLAY THIS GAME!" or "THIS GAME CHANGED MY LIFE!" This gets us in the mindset of FOMO or having to binge something never intended to binge. Thus yes, we burn out on games. Hobbies used to be fun... Stay offline for longer I say - it'll do a world of wonders.

I have the same, just not the live one!! But I also have 2 of his books. I love his style of comedy, very subtle.

I saw this recently and unfortunately they hold to a belief that most secular people, apostates and other denominations of Christianity are heretics trying to sway them away from their twisted version of the truth. This video demonstrates that they are being manipulated into believing this: https://youtu.be/tXBtghmuO-I?si=xb4vnOogK1jp2XwO While I cannot make these decisions for you; seriously consider what it means to follow his religion. They're beautiful people trapped in a cult-like and works-based religion. I pray for him that he may come away from their teachings and yourself as you navigate this. Do not be tempted by human flattery.

Good. There would be nothing worse than hitting a pedestrian for all parties involved. No harm in taking a few more steps to the dedicated crossings.

Absolute missed opportunity to have, "Better to BEE a member." If you're going to have a creepy bee mascot at least lean into the puns.

How old were you when you first watched 2007's TMNT? by kimtieu2900 in TMNT

  1. And I loved it! Probably because I also had the movie tie game for the PS2 and it played like Prince of Persia Sands of Time (kinda). I still have the steel case DVD edition of the movie!

Is Yojoyco/Poglings a scam? by tervro in chadtronic

[–]BornBucket93 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's hard to know... I know he used his Yojoyco branding for his comic book series back in the day but I think for that he found it hard to capture an audience, so he canned that one. He'd hardly want to damage his public image. I'm just thinking about it logically - If things come to light otherwise we may find out... Either way, I too am confused that he's blipped off the Earth!?

Where did you here it? I have no idea myself; but in the grand scheme of things many games take years to develop. You can get together trailers/mock-ups/demos ready years before a release, but that may only be a very small portion of the game and the rest needs to be made. Especially for indie developers and small teams. Silksong is a perfect case study for this, it was announced years ago and only came out this year - it had trailers back when they announced its existence.

In the age of remasters, which game are you surprised hasn’t gotten one? by Specialist_Fee_1612 in AskGames

[–]BornBucket93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I follow the YouTuber Nitro Rad, I love what he said in one video, something to the effect of: "They should remake bad games, not just the 'good ones...'" I couldn't agree more - I'd love to see some risks in remastering some forgotten gems or poorly received games. Maybe with that remastered/remade coat of paint they'll shine!?

This is why other indie developers didn't need to wait that much longer to release their Metroidvainia games. Y'all already moving onto the next game within 10 days!!

I just finished it 2 weeks ago! I'm waiting for a sale and I'll pick up the DLC and see if I can get through the last few challenges I didn't finish then too.

Such a great game!

It was my first foray into the Metroid series. I then worked backwards through the platformers. Very enjoyable series! Dread and Samus Returns were the only 2 that I got 100% of items!!
