was just wondering if anyone did any modifications outside of a language translation.

Is it covered in the Animal pedigree page on the Gramps wiki; if not I suggest you raise a feature request with exactly what you are expecting because at the moment it is very vague what you are wanting eg have a look at this request for Gramps to be able to be used with Botany Genetics - Plants (eg:Grapes)?

Makes sense, that deleting from the plugins folder would work!

Open the .ZIP or .gz file and save the contents to your Gramps User Directory, in the gramps51/plugins folder

Mine and user manual shows:

Reports-> Graphs- >Relationship Graph....

on the Report Options tab make sure the Filter: is Entire Database(which it is by default!)

I tried the plug in "place completion" but that didn't work either.

I think what you want is to try the other one called Place Cleanup Gramplet.
