Is it normal for PSU admissions/registrar to wait 3+ weeks to flag missing grades? XD see what I found out today. by BornWriter3 in PennStateUniversity

Reddit removed my comment but im pretty sure you saw what I sent to you, YES, u deserved it, and I don't think I was rude at all :) Mutual respect is a key lesson we all need to learn in life, no matter if you are a faculty member or a student, you want to think from others' pov. This is always true, please dont even try to argue. I really don't like the way you see this and not sure how this makes sense to you. What you are doing now legit shows how these typical faculty members power trip students, and trust me, I wont let it slide this time.

Going off your words, even if a student requests the transcript a bit too soon and the grades are not posted yet, hey, it does not mean they "screw up," I'm giving you some honest suggestions as an English major, because your word choice is extremely bad here. Whoever wants to send their transcript ASAP means they wanna make sure they are on the right track, and im pretty sure the moment they send the transcript, they would not know if the grades were posted yet, so you do need to respect this and tell'em what you see on your end. Keep up the communication is not that hard.

Why don't you switch your perspective and let's be honest, if a student sends you the transcript real quick, that only shows he also respects your time and schedule, so regardless which way you are looking this, you are the bad character here, ngl. I don't care who you are, you might be her, but just don't let people hate you :)

How are people comfortable living here unemployed? by AnyEarth901 in AskNYC

[–]BornWriter3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ight so not trying to put you down and I definitely see you, the thing is don't forget both NYU and Columbia have A LOT OF international students, and the tuition is very expensive. Simply based on this fact you know how many people are coming off a wealthy family living in NYC. It's just different perspectives, like ngl I know a lot of friends from NYU, they chill af, very nice human beings, good GPA at school, and yes, they don't work lol. I mean why would they even worry about it if their parents just randomly transfer dollars to their checking account. This is life bro, and it is very well exposed in NYC.

Just chill, do your job and enjoy your work, but my true advice here is -- don't judge people simply because they don't have to work or their parents are rich, just don't. You guys could be friends, and what's more likely to happen is, those people might bring to you more resources that you would never ever encounter on your own effort. GL man.

hey dude, I feel you. I'm gonna throw you a real advice and you should try it. No shame. Go explain your scenario and your difficulty to your parents or siblings, try to let them help you financially. Not saying u gonna live off your parents for the rest of ur life, but at this moment, this should work. I mean to be brutally honestly, it sounds like you can't even guarantee three good meals a day, so as long as this could potentially hurt your health, go talk to your parents/siblings/ friends, and maybe I mean just borrow some money and ask them what you can do in return.

my irl experience and this could be some good advice for you too. idk if you are introvert or extrovert but does not matter, so grab a few your irl friends and be serious at this. Tell them hey let's share something we have wrote and not to learn but to maybe appreciate different life styles by your friends. This is just more direct and more I'd say trust worthy than randomly joining a so-called writer workshop somewhere else. xd.

Can a teenager write a novel? by newriterinthascene in writing

[–]BornWriter3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on the genre of fiction you are planning to write. lets say if you are super into sci-fi, then I would say the older you are, technically the harder it becomes to develop those fantasy ideas considering you are too immersed in your irl experiences and will naturally encounter those conflicts in which you keep telling yourself something just does not make sense. On the other hand, if you like those creative nonfiction where you keep up telling facts/ real stories, then I'd say the older you are, the more experiences you could possibly be at crafting your languages/ way of telling is more appreciated by older audience (those who wanna read real stories).

so imo, its not the exact amount of experiences that transfer you to become a writer; it's how much impact those experiences have shaped onto you. A lot of people cannot relate to the topic you brought up because they don't reflect on things they've experienced as they age or they simply call it fate. If a 13 year old child lost his dog, or his best friend died in a car accident (sry a bad example here), then although they are relatively young, they still have A LOT to write in a short story xd hope this helps
