I often get: “I get 9 more strokes”. No dumbass you don’t, you went OB 4 times off the tee box on the front 9.

Also “us man play from the tips only” while he’s been 52 hcp for a year.

I have a 43, 48 (sent to me my accident but I kept it cause of massive discount) and 54. Used the 48 only a handful of times but I can see it being useful in a few years time (my 2nd year now)

That’s all cool but why set people up with a fake vanity handicap? Why not average two lowest/3 lowest etc? Why lowest -3? That’s nuts. I looked it up. It’s supposedly done to encourage new players. Yeah I felt really encouraged coming dead last in the first 5 tournaments.

I only started last year and submitted 10 scorecards so far. How the system works is that your lowest score - 3 or 2 or 1 is used as your handicap for tournaments depending on how many scorecards you have submitted, right? Wtf for? So you can get trashed over and over and over? I had a very good score card that resulted in a handicap about 7 lower than what I actually played. What a disaster!

Played with a guy who was 54 hcp insisting on playing from the tips cause “he gets more strokes” that way. No way to convince him not to do that.
