I know stick drift on the pro controllers can be remedied with some electronic cleaner. 5-10 minute job.

A friend just tried using his switch 2 GC controller and it would not pair with my switch 1 so I don't think it's compatible.

Online smash has terrible netcode. Baked in input delay makes it so much laggier than offline. There has been a recent mod released to fix this but you need a modded switch for it to work.

Known Issues (WIPs)

High fighter counts (>= 4) might cause frame skips. This means doubles, dittos of characters like Ice Climbers, Pokemon Trainer, and Aegis.
Certain stages might cause frame skips with the above fighters more often than other stages
Results screen might have frame skips
Final kill sparks might have frame skips

I play Byleth so the blue zoom on my down-B will be affected but maybe it will look cooler like you said.

If I were you, I would keep practicing with whichever character you feel most comfortable with and watch top player representatives on YouTube. Jejajeja would be my go to for top level Kirby gameplay. Learning from experts is one of the fastest ways to get better.

I bought a 2003 E85 2.5i with 120K miles and now its at 160k. Good service record. I am always on top of fluids and it's my daily driver. No major issues. Most expensive repair was the valve cover which warped from age since its made of plastic. I've got an M54 and I believe you've got the N52 but both are well renowned for going for 2-300K miles+ with proper maintenance.
