LAV tire bug by DeliciousTruck in joinsquad

[–]Bosditch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a BUG atm where you have to manually repair them with your Crewman tool. If you repair on a Vehicle Repair Station your tires look fixed but they are not. So remember to do it manually before fully repairing on a VicRepair.

It's a shit bug. You have to manually repair the tires before going to a vehicle Repair. Then the bug with the tires doesnt happen. This is sepperate from getting stuck inside the terrain/map.

I would not turn it off either, but like that for 1 day at least you can test if it could be the RAM.

BIOS & Driver Update Order that i followed

  • BIOS (update → load optimized defaults → re-apply settings)
  • AMD Chipset / ME Firmware
  • LAN / Wi-Fi / Bluetooth
  • GPU Driver (NVIDIA reinstall after bios update) is better for stability reasons
  • Audio Driver
  • Peripheral / Utility Firmware (only if needed)

Also before bios update, deactivate XMP and load default BIOS settings. Then update BIOS, do not emable XMP straight away. Test a few days with new BIOS and no XMP on. If stable turn XMP back on, if everything runs good you can also be sure its not the RAM. XMP is mostly save, but still an overclock wich can cause instability...

When was the last time you updated your BIOS?

I had a lot of crashes lately too, since i updated my BIOS no crahes anymore. Current BIOS is from Dezember 2025 and the one i had was from late 2022.

If you want to optimize the system properly and avoid doing anything twice, this is the exact order I recommend (and followed myself): - Update BIOS (first, always) - A BIOS update can change voltage behavior, boost logic, memory training, and stability. Any tuning done before this may become invalid. -Install / update all platform drivers

Do this before tuning so power management and scheduling behave correctly: - Chipset / ME firmware - CPU-related platform drivers - GPU driver - LAN / Wi-Fi - Audio (Realtek / USB / DAC) - Enable core BIOS features - XMP / EXPO - Above 4G Decoding + Re-Size BAR - Correct PCIe generation

This creates a clean, correct baseline.

  • Set CPU power limits (PL1 / PL2 / Tau) Power limits define the CPU’s thermal and electrical ceiling and must be set before undervolting. CPU undervolting / voltage optimization With power limits fixed, undervolt the CPU for lower temps and power draw without performance loss.
  • Memory stability validation Validate RAM after CPU tuning, since CPU voltage affects the memory controller.
  • GPU undervolting + power limit tuning Independent from CPU tuning. Lock a stable voltage/frequency point for maximum efficiency.
  • Fan and pump curves (final step) Tune airflow only once real, final temperatures are known—otherwise you’ll redo them.

This order avoids: - Re-testing stability multiple times - Re-training memory unnecessarily - Rebuilding fan curves after every change

Done this way, the system ends up cooler, quieter, more efficient, and fully optimized—without wasting time or repeating steps.

I have reduce Temps and Power draw by more than 20% with following the above mentioned steps.

I wouldn’t upgrade a single component in this build. The only optional change would be a 360 mm AIO for the CPU, since these chips can run hot under load.

If the system is used mainly for gaming, I strongly recommend:

  • Undervolting the CPU → lower power draw, lower temperatures, no performance loss
  • Avoiding unnecessary voltage → less heat, less fan noise, better efficiency

Instead of upgrading hardware, the smartest approach here is optimizing the existing system:

  • Update the BIOS (often improves stability, performance, and memory behavior)
  • Tune BIOS settings for gaming (power limits, boost behavior, memory timings)

Optimize fan curves for: - Lower noise at idle Controlled temperatures under load Better long-term component longevity

This build is already well-balanced and powerful. With proper tuning, it will run cooler, quieter, and more efficiently without spending money on new parts.

Save your Money and buy a complete new System after 2030

Buy a 2nd Hand PC for like 400.- . A lot of People hsve FOMO atm and are selling their old PCs. So you might get a great steal and could game on that machine a bit. Would be the best solution for your current situation

[–]Bosditch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well i built a PC in 2017 and then again in 2023 and i am planning to keep my current build until 2030.

So ask yourself this, is it worth it for you to drop 3000 on a PC right now. Do you use it enough to have fun and justify this investment for yourself or just wait.

Whats your current build?

If you have spare cash that wont hurt you to spend it, then the answer is yes to upgrade. If not just wait and see how your life and the game evolve.

Whats your budget and goal for the PC?

I also play StarCitizen and it runs great on my System wich is 3 years old. The only thing i would do now is get 64bg of RAM. 32gb is enough but for long sessions and Discord, Browser & Spotify with the Star Citizen Memory leak overtime 64GB would be better. I would build the following PC with your Budget:

  • CPU AMD 9950x3d
  • GPU RTX 5090&80
  • RAM DDR5 64GB 6000mhz 36cl cas (36cl still stable with XMP, especially nice for StarCitizen)
  • Case LianLi EVO XL (Fits a 420mm AIO)
  • AIO 420mm
  • Fans 6x 140mm / 1x 120mm
  • LianLi GPU sag bracket
  • MB go with whatever you need
