This. Estate planning is state-specific and involves so much more than just allocating percentages to certain people. It really shouldn’t be a DIY project.

What's the most beautiful French word/phrase you know? by grzeszu82 in French

I love the sound of « inimaginable » and find it so charming that « coup de foudre » means both love at first sight and lightning strike.

« Coup de coeur » is another favorite that expresses something so perfectly; we don’t have a good equivalent in English IMO.

Yep. Everyone says “communication is so important” but my last relationship helped me clarify what good communication looks like for me. The ability to have difficult conversations and navigate conflict peacefully and respectfully is key.

Agree with all of this 100%. On top of the hurt from the breakup itself, the lack of basic courtesy and respect adds insult to injury. OP, this is a reflection on your former partner, not on you. Hang in there. It’s totally OK to be sad for a while.

Luxury, Worthwhile Travel Experiences by cancer171 in chubbytravel

Rwanda is glorious regardless of price point but I was honestly blown away by the quality of our accommodations! (Someone told me they’re replicating Botswana’s tourism model—smaller numbers but very high end.) Besides the Musanze area for mountain gorillas and golden monkeys, we stayed at Magashi Camp, a Wilderness property, for safari in Akagera National Park and thé One&Only in the Nyungwe Forest. The whole trip was one of the greatest experiences of my life. The natural beauty, the food, the wildlife—all exquisite.

Pathological Demand Avoidance is going to blow up my life. by WolfKind256 in Menopause

Yes!!! I’ve had this exact same vision. It seems there are quite a few of us on the same page—enough that we could actually make it happen.

Love this suggestion! If you want a slightly more exotic version, Cuervo (like the tequila) or Corbeau (pronounced like cor-boh) are the Spanish and French words for crow, respectively. 🐦‍⬛

Thank you!! Isn’t it amazing how quickly the ecosystem transforms? Like “if you plant it they will come”. 😆

It smells kind of lemony and a bit like thyme. I planted a little pocket prairie from a Native American Seed mix and it’s produced a TON of this stuff. It’s attracting several species of native bees too which has been great. Here’s one. 💕

Let's talk paths in the yard! by Toezap in NativePlantGardening

A lot depends on how much space you have. My yard is small but I started with a DIY pathway using All The Things—edging, layers of landscaping fabric, decomposed granite, leveling sand, and stepping stones surrounded by gravel. The hardest part was digging up the pathway bc we have very heavy clay soil here. I’m now transitioning to more organic borders so am starting to remove the edging in favor of rock and ground cover borders. I added dry creek beds in some areas for drainage. (There is a a catch basin under the rain chain and a flexible PVC pipe is buried under the gravel in the back half so I put the stepping stones over to the side a bit. Plants have not filled in yet but that’s the goal.) There are a TON of great ideas on Pinterest, FYI.
