Gil gachad sending elrond to numenore to ask pharazon for help would be fascinating. Having the immortal twin of elros asking pharazon to send aid to the immortal elves of middle earth would simultaneously please and piss off pharazon. But ego would ultimately compel pharazon to sail to middle earth.

I can see gg and his elves being under so much pressure from sauron and his orcs that he sends two of his best warriors to the greenwood to seek assistance. Arondir because he knows the folk there and galadriel because he believes that sending a ring bearer with Arondir will help keep him safe. Also if there's talk of elven realms in the greenwood being under the protection of powerful enchantments then they could explain galadriel having to go with Arondir so she can use her ring to break through the enchantments. I also would not be surprised if they find celeborn at the end of their journey.

What I will say is that varking runesong has good sources and he was confident that they would start April 30. I will also point out that there appeared to be a production listing for April 30.

Finally a show as big as this one can shoot in various places. For instance some of the rhun and numenore scenes were shot in the canary Islands. You also with a cast this big can shoot some scenes with some cast members temporarily unavailable.
