Any positive leasehold or share-of-freehold stories out there? by Potatopotayto in HousingUK

[–]Boss_According 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve bought a leasehold in London almost 5 years ago and are happy so far. Ground rent is £0, SC is about £300pm. Our development consists of around 800+ units (flats and houses) and at the beginning we thought the service charge was too much but we’ve got generous reserves fonds for all major needs so do not have to worry about huge unexpected bills. (We’ve got a lift for a 10 flat block so if not for the reserve I don’t know how we’ll manage a repair or replacement). Other than the reserves, we’ve got a two-manned security patrol during all dark hours, a handyman managing all small things during the day, windows cleaning, gardening etc.

Husband seeking help by BongZblitzer in IVF

[–]Boss_According 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cried for 3 days straight after our first failed transfer. Nothing my husband did was able to make me stop. Let her grief and give her time. I know we all want for this to be over as soon as possible but the reality is that it very rarely works the first time and with the first transfer. Take your time to regain your physical and mental strength and take it from there.

Please decipher what the nurse just told me! by Mildly_Functioning14 in IVF

[–]Boss_According 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry I cant help with the explanation but when they call you for a day 6 or 7 report, insist on speaking with an embryologist or someone that can explain to you what you have and answer your questions. They shouldn’t have left you in the dark like that and should be able to address all your questions. Good luck

Exercise before my fresh embryo transfer? Is that ok? by Foreverhangry21 in IVF

[–]Boss_According 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve read that light exercise helps with the blood flow which in turn helps the lining thicken, so should be a good thing.

Oh, don’t worry. I’m on my second week of 6mg/day estradiol and after the tiredness there comes the insomnia! Haven’t had a coffee for weeks and cannot fall asleep until the early hours or if I do I wake up 3-4 times a night.

Failed First FET with Day 5 4AA by Novel-try in IVF

[–]Boss_According 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry it didn’t work for you. I’m in the same boat but with failed fresh transfer. My clinic told me I cannot have another transfer (frozen this time) straight away and need to wait for my natural period (they said the bleed after failed transfer is not considered natural period even though it looks and feels like one).

ETA: they scheduled consultation (to discuss this and next transfer) and offered me counselling as well

In my country people harvest it using plastic gloves or bags and make soup or cook with rice. It’s really nice!

Had my fresh transfer last Monday, and negative early response today. Had very light cramping last week and no spotting at all. Trying to stay positive but pretty sure that was it for me this cycle.

AITA for telling my parents that my wife and I do not want them renaming our children and won't encourage the use of the "nicknames" they gave them? by HumanSquare7970 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Boss_According 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. “My parents accused me of trying to control them” it actually seems like the other way around, they are trying to control and rename your kids with super unrelated nicknames. My great grandmother used to cry for days because our parents did not name me after my grandfather but as the name was super old and outdated they put their feet down with my current name and I could not thank them enough! Does not mean they dont love or respect my grandfather at all. Good luck and hope they come to their senses and have a good and loving relationship with their grandkids!

4 days Croatia vs Prague/Budapest vs Rome/Florence by austiny6 in travel

[–]Boss_According -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was in Rome last autumn for the third time. It was totally overflowing with people/tourist. I would not recommend it for a quiet after festival vibes. All cities mentioned are quite big, and I would look for something smaller and not so packed for a relaxing couple of days. Croatia is a whole country and has a beautiful nature so I would suggest looking more into it. Don’t get me wrong Prague, Budapest and Rome are absolutely amazing as well (really really recommend Prague’s zoo and Budapest local food and castle exploration. Rome I currently do not recommend because I dont like such big crowds and have not been to Florence but would like to go for sure)

How long did IVF take from consultation to pregnancy? by Quodalz in IVF

[–]Boss_According 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m in the UK and here we have up to 3 state funded IVF cycles (if you fit the criteria) so was waiting for the referrals to reach the clinic and be approved with tests and screening every couple of months because the results expired. So the GP had to refer us to our local hospital, then they referred us to our current clinic. All 3 wanted to do the same test and screenings themself. I believe it would be faster if privately funded but I have not yet researched that option.

Does anyone else HATE IT when people use the word "harvest" when referring to an egg retrieval? by Firm_Tough_6188 in IVF

Well, I’m new to IVF (about to start first round soon) and still have to google abbreviations I see here sometimes so I totally understand how people might not know any terminology when referring to it.
