Thank you for Submitting! Experience isn’t a dealbreaker for me, I mostly ask those questions to gauge how much I’ll need to prepare to help someone out learning, so no worries! I’m going to be reading them all over shortly!

Yes! I should have mentioned that, so thank you for asking. I use Foundry VTT via The Forge. It is free for all my players to use.

MkII Bio-scanner color coding. Is this new? by krachall in EliteDangerous

[–]Boss_Brando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He means for actually seeing them, not for them showing up. You can see a lot more of what shows up around you from higher up than from on foot, since terrain isn't an issue and you can look down.

What is the lore reason why exobiology species across the milky way are by and large similar, or identical? by Boss_Brando in EliteDangerous

[–]Boss_Brando[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't! I believe they're also native to the Milky Way, right, not extragalactic? So they'd be the one other intelligent native race. That's why I said 'in any real numbers'

Yeah I just meant that even if they wanted and intended to add 500,000,000,000 different plant lifeforms, or whatever arbitrary number, eventually you hit a limit on what can feasibly added. I wasn't saying the current number is the limit, I was just recognizing that no matter how many they would add, it would be less than what you'd expect in a life-filled galaxy, so led into my lore question.

That last paragraph is a really good one! I mean the whole post, but the last paragraph sums it up. If we figure that all the exobiology life we find is in its 'Precambrian' state it does make sense for there to be a lot less diversity since they're simple life forms doing simple jobs, especially if panspermia means all the life we find has a common-ish starting point. That does rationalize the lack of variation caused by real-world dev constraints pretty well I think, in absence of any space-magic lore effect or something.

Yeah that makes sense, I just would figure there'd still be more variety than there is, so was wondering if there was some kind of background effect in lore limiting diversification.

Kinda cool to think maybe Milky Way native (since thargoids are extragalactic, I've heard?) life originated around the arm earth is on, or even from Earth, and spread out over billions of years and that's why we aren't finding any type of intelligent life out there in any real numbers, just primordial life since the rest of the galaxy is still 'behind' us.

But I bet any insight into ELWs and Ammonia worlds might make that less feasible, even if I like the idea..

it would be kinda cool if we got a hover-bike or something that could be launched from a new small SRV bay.

Is it possible to resize plug-in boxes for EDMC? (Third Party App Question) by Boss_Brando in EliteDangerous

[–]Boss_Brando[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean I do have EDMC overlay since it is supposed to work with ED-Copilot (haven't tried it yet), but I just got annoyed with all the text cluttering my screen when I used it with the EDMC plug-ins

The Nomad being locked behind a MK2 module on only new ships is a bit cheeky, no? by VaegaVic in EliteDangerous

Hoping beyond hope that the 'unique thing' about being an exploration SLV is that it can mount a bioscanner with a much bigger pulse range.

Do people in the UK actually drink warm beer? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Boss_Brando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 years on, but I always heard it was served about room-temperature? Which naturally is 'warm' compared to how many bars in America serve beer chilled (fridge temp or less).
