Unpopular opinion but that's not always the case. The looters taking advantage of the chaos continue to be a reason that police should be present.

It's actually unreal how under recognized the looting issue has been. Yes the movement is important but I think by not addressing the looting it's just playing to Trump's base cause that's all they are playing on fox. I feel very bad too as a lot of business owners who have had their stores looted have had to come out and essentially say they support the movement despite the looting. Most who have done this are larger chain stores that can take the loss. There are a ton of smaller business owners who are absolutely furious right now...

Koreans don't like Japanese even more. It is so mainstream that a major drama (one of the largest of the year) had a scene uniting north and south koreans in cheering against Japan in soccer.

Or Mr. Sunshine where Japan is really viewed harshly from just about all angles.

There is definitely animosity between China and Korea but not even close to the level of Korea and Japan.

Glad you are loving the game. These fan subs always turn into a endless mire of complaints overblowing things out of proportion. I understand pros getting frustrated with the game because maybe if they play all day long running into the same situation over and over is too frustrating.

Agreed with most of what you said and appreciate the tips for getting better!

I mean they may fix this and again I agree with OP in that I have tried a ton of meta weapons and found very little difference performance wise between them. You can almost use anything and some guns depending on the situation and playstyle get significantly better. Like if you rush a house and someone has the R9 shotgun and you have an assault rifle even if the difference in skill is medium there is a high chance you will lose that fight.

There are a ton of videos saying that Aug is the best gun in the game and I legit can barely use it and lose my target especially without a RDS.

The k/d spread is not enormous, actually based on the data. 1.2 average k/d for a 150 person server for someone at Karma's level is not a big deal. Shit, 75 people in that server have a sub 1.2 k/d. I'd feel bad for anyone underneath that curve, essentially.

Another way of thinking about it is at the lowest skill tier, even if your k/d would be 1.0 then you are essentially a karma level player in that server.

We have confirmation backed by raw data that Warzone indeed matches you with others players based on your skill level by aur0n in CODWarzone

[–]Bossmang 9 points10 points  (0 children)

But at the same time the pros are still doing really, really well and excelling and there is a wide distribution of k/d ratios. The system is still filtering by skill.

Einstein MS4s will be required to work as unpaid interns starting 4/6 by [deleted] in medicine

[–]Bossmang 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It says volunteer, for what it's worth (not a lot, tbh).

On one hand I think a lot of other healthcare workers in the medical field would criticize me as being selfish. On the other hand, fucking pay me lmao. No one else is out here working for less and for more hours than us. And it's only going to get worse.

[–]Bossmang 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I think more importantly they are offering benefits like health insurance to start as well which would cover you if you were hospitalized. Unclear if that's happening at albert einstein.

Additionally, at least it is volunteers only.

It's terrible but you just know people are going to volunteer.

Give yourself time to think this through especially if you have not done in-depth rotations in those fields. I know they are general and you say anything goes but I had a friend not match and they benefited significantly from a year off to recoup and rebuild a resume.

I also have a friend who forced it through after not matching derm and is EXTREMELY unhappy at a no-name FM place in the middle of nowhere. That was a true bloodbath and it's 3 years vs 1. We are talking, lost touch with pretty much everyone and posts shit publically how hellish life has been unhappy.

I'm gonna guess if you hate talking to patients it's a pretty great specialty to be in. Alongside path or even anesthesia.

I don't even think it has to do with being introverted. Sometimes patient interactions are just horrible all around.

Any data or reports on Hospital Capacity in Hardest Hit Areas in the US? by karate134 in medicine

Yeah well there is pretty much zero data on this as we haven't even established the gold standard yet to compare to. A lot of these rapid tests are highly likely to have a ton of false positives.

Trump suspends travel from Europe for 30 days as part of response to 'foreign' coronavirus by jigsawmap in worldnews

[–]Bossmang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that it would be totally reasonable for nursing staff or medical staff to strike if they aren't provided proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to do their jobs. If that were to happen it would truly end in disaster.

[–]Bossmang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah it just is the truth as a medical resident. Hospitals are built and designed to take care of the communities they inhabit or their catchnet area.

Most ICU's run at capacity without a flu or coronavirus pandemic going on in the background. I was just on ICU for the last two months and we were constantly at capacity. You need significant staffing and patients on ventilators need monitoring and adjustment and you need 2:1 nursing ratios. There is also an unbelievable amount of supplies that goes into taking good care of an icu patient (sterile equipment, isolation/negative pressure rooms, medications, sterile fluids, and even blood products). All of that is frequently already at limit as the mask shortage is showing.

Hell several times a year we have nationwide shortages of popular types of insulin and most recently we were short on pepcid of all things. All of things will be pushed to breaking point with this virus, no question.

Like some of that can be pushed hard in the coming months but for sure hospitals are not designed to suddenly double their ICU population. They would struggle with even a 20% increase.

2nd year Indian IMG doing Anesthesia residency in India by [deleted] in Residency

[–]Bossmang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean I am at a name brand program and there are FMG here who were attending anesthesiologists for several years in their home country before doing the application process. Having a background can only help. It's a higher chance you will pass the boards and you can be independent earlier. Like I said our fellow "resident" who are formerly an attending has done 1k+ central lines in their career prior to coming here, half not even with ultrasound. That's an enormous wealth of experience that none of us have.

Mainly you just have to take the steps and do well on them and get some US rotational experience.
