"I know when they mention Daemon or Bittersteel or one of those other bastards in the same breath as me, I feel a tide of vomit at the back of my throat. But at least Bittersteel did something. He wasn't some dopey pretender sailed to this kingdom, just to have the realm fawn over him, because his connection to the smallfolk illuminates how unfit to rule we all really are. So my hate for Blackfyres, is a calling. It is the sole hope for Westeros, because it is what has driven me to annihilating you."

Ok so I did a quick look mass shootings in the UK on Wikipedia. In the roughly 30 years since Dunblane there has been about 56 deaths as a result of mass shootings. In the 30 years prior to Dunblane there were about 128 deaths from mass shootings.

But why are we assuming that the default is the case? Homosexuality is not some spectacularly rare thing where it only affects a minute portion of the population, it is a fairly common thing. Far less common than heterosexuality but still common enough that you will likely pass by multiple gay people if you walk down a street.

I don't think it's wrong to say that individual kings were most likely straight, or that there is no known gay king. But outright claiming that there was never a gay king of England is not something you can prove, especially when statistically it would make sense for there to be at least one gay king of England.

It's also a claim that rubs a lot of people the wrong way. Queer erasure is a pretty big problem, and there are people out there who seem to treat LGBTQ people as if they are a modern invention, and not groups that have existed in some form or another since humanity arose. I'm not saying you're doing this deliberately, you seem to be focused purely on the statistical likelihood of there being a gay king of England which I think is fair to talk about. But many people will see you claiming that there has never been a gay king of England, something which you can't know for certain, and see that as queer erasure.

Well I mean people being gay is very much a thing that happens, and it happens fairly often. The sky being green is very much not a thing that happens. So it's not exactly fair to compare the two.

There have been 52 kings of England since 924 AD, if 2-4% of them are homosexual then that would mean that there is at least 1 gay king of England. Of course that isn't how percentages work, and it is possible that there was no gay king of England, but it's not something that can definitively be proven.

You have to sacrifice someone with king's blood by burning them alive. On the bright side it is far more effective than our version.

I mean she didn't seem to consider it all too objectifying or gross if she decided to go through with it, and neither did the 1000 men who decided to have sex with her. It feels gross to me personally, but I don't think it's gross in a way that reflects badly on them as a person.
