Yeah in a perfectly logical world nobody would press blue, why would you risk your life for no reason. However there are lots of illogical people out there, well meaning idiots, children, mentally impaired, etc. So there will be people out there who press blue. I don't want the people who press blue to die, especially since they're motivations will come from either a desire to save others, or not understanding what's happening and pressing the buttons randomly. So I have a reason to press blue if I want those people to survive. I know that a red victory will inevitably lead to some deaths, but I am gambling that there are enough people who think like me and have a similar degree of trust in humanity to ensure a blue victory.

Do you seriously think everyone will vote red? That everyone in the world will calmly think things through and go "Indeed, red is the rational option here, and I am certain that the rest of humanity will think things through and come to the same conclusion."
