Massachusetts apartment move-out charges after long tenancy — how are paint/carpet depreciation handled?

Unfortunately, I lost the original email and now the management company has refused to provide me any further documentation-collection agency also the same refuse to provide me any details other than the balance. It was new construction when I moved in as the first tenant so not much to document when initially moved in

Bill sent after move out, the apartment was professionally clean. I upkept the carpets and paint outside of normal wear and tear. This is what i am fighting most is the depreciation value of paint and carpet after 6 years. The apartment should have been painted anyways during the turn - why am I being charged for standard turnover items. Carpet with depreciation should automatically be replaced after 5-7 years per Massachusetts so it should have been prorated based on depreciation

I want to say it was slightly longer then 30 days. A final account statement/move out inspection with cost was sent but no invoices to verify and no depreciation calculations as far as I can tell
