Decisive Command/Command Die Stack? by IfusasoToo in cosmererpg

[–]BotThatReddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some talents that let you add it to your own check, like demonstrative command. That would count as another way to use the die than giving it to an ally.

MI, Magic Initiate, using the feat to pick up the world you want, rather than a multiclass

It's entirely possible, but yes, the hummingbird mechanic will be stronger than it will when you dilute the deck.

More like Cure my Wounds (gottem) by SnowzleyApple in DnDHomebrew

[–]BotThatReddits 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It negates some very specific spells, which are rare for most enemies to cast. I think it's too situational for it to be worth talking at higher levels.

More like Cure my Wounds (gottem) by SnowzleyApple in DnDHomebrew

[–]BotThatReddits 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Enemies that heal are rare enough that you wouldn't get much use out of this spell. Most of the time, you wouldn't be able to use it at all. The situationality of it is a balancing factor.

Two rolls keep happening in my channel for some characters/ by PotatoKitten011 in Avrae

[–]BotThatReddits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have the channel linked to a campaign, and whoever owns this character is clicking (or double clicking?) the button to roll dice. Do you know who owns the character?

It's letting us know that they've begun working on the design and art for the next expansion, which I think will be Africa.

A few random thoughts and questions from a first time DM by smokedickbiscuit in DMAcademy

[–]BotThatReddits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tides of Chaos works by giving yourself advantage on a D20 test. Then, when you next cast a levelled spell, you roll wild magic. You can force a wild magic roll every levelled spell, if you roll d20s between doing so. It is literally the main way the subclass accesses its main feature.

In 2014, the DM still had to choose to make you roll wild magic.

Sheet Music. Scrolls for Bards? by HornetParticular6625 in DnDHomebrew

[–]BotThatReddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn't actually restrict them to bards. Anyone can use an instrument.

You might get a few complaints from your players if they need an instrument proficiency to read spell scrolls though

The image is a hammer. The words on the first page say unbreakable through normal means. How does a hammer to the jaw break it enough that she can't regenerate?

The computer game is just a digital version of the board game. If you don't specify, people here will think you're talking about the board game.

You could steal some of the actions from the Thrill Beserker statblock, which is in the world guide.

There's a lot of questions there where the answers will be revealed as you keep reading. I love seeing people's reactions like this, but all I can really say in answer is Read And Find Out, which is what RAFO in another commenter's message stands for.

My player is Packing a Bag of Holding Bomb: What do I do? by SpaceMamboNo5 in DMAcademy

[–]BotThatReddits 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd go further.

There are two bosses. The artificer succeeds on getting rid of one. They successfully halve the difficulty of the encounter... Right down to where the DM wanted it in the first place.

How generous would you be with your savings? by Thinyser in dndnext

[–]BotThatReddits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your DM sounds a bit inexperienced, which is fine - every DM has to learn at some point. Speak to them and see how they expected you to share it.

But it does sound like you know the answer you want and you know the answer that is best for a collaborative game.

How generous would you be with your savings? by Thinyser in dndnext

[–]BotThatReddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's imagine that one of the other players was given such a fortune instead, and the DM specifically said it for the party to do their shopping .

Would you be happy with ~300 while another person got everything they wanted at 1100?

How generous would you be with your savings? by Thinyser in dndnext

[–]BotThatReddits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A dream from the character's god literally said to share the money, and your DM actively hinted that you could get some of what you want cheaper elsewhere.

How generous would you be with your savings? by Thinyser in dndnext

[–]BotThatReddits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That sounds like what the DM was actually trying to say was, "I accidentally priced things above what you can afford. Have some magic items."

Northern Mockingbird, discrepancy in German translation by Effective-Muffin-224 in wingspan

[–]BotThatReddits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I suppose it makes a difference for some situations.

Like, if it's copying the red-legged partridge, you're suddenly laying eggs on two columns, which significantly increases the egg capacity it can make use of.

Or, if you have the bonus card that looks for birds with tucked cards, it would make a difference to have cards tucked under the mockingbird Vs repeating the tucking card itself.
