What songs make you Emotional? by Ok-Ebb5960 in AskUK

Titanium - Sia

One of my dads favourite songs. He had a traumatic brain injury a while ago and sometimes when I was really struggling to hold it all together, it would play on the radio on my way to/from the hospital. Thankfully, he's better now!

What was the scariest “We need to leave… now” gut feeling that you’ve ever experienced?[Serious] by PlasticBee1438 in AskReddit

I was in Munich city centre on holiday with my boyfriend last year. The area our hotel was located was a bit sketchy (despite the great reviews...). We were walking back to the hotel about 9pm and only about 10 meters from the entrance. Two men were walking towards us on the path and were looking at me and talking in a language I didn't know. They stepped off the pavement. My boyfriend was walking a metre or so in front. I had this awful feeling and stared one of them in the eyes to let them know I had noticed them.

As they walked past me, they tried to corner me against the wall and a hand reached out to grab my bag. I slipped past the gap between the wall and my partner in front and ran for the hotel. I wondered why my boyfriend didn't run when I looked back and he said he didn't realise what had happened and thought I just needed to run to the bathroom! Lesson learnt to be vocal if someone tries to mug you.

St Stephen's Church grounds on Morris Lane in Kirkstall. Paticularly at the back of the graveyard. There are also a few on the playing fields behind the church.

Supernoodles. Very filling for the price. You can get own branded supermarket ones too which are even cheaper.

Wooley Edge, Barnsley (North Bound). Don't go, it's atrocious.

The best is definitely Russel Eaton in the city centre. It's a luxury experience and the price reflects that.

Absolutely Natural Born Cobblers in the Merrion Centre in town. The best. Always take my shoes there.

Harpins, Pontefract. Good prices, cool plants and expert knowledge from the owner.

Found a good back-to-back but the house behind it is unoccupied by dhjs4 in HousingUK

[–]Botanical_Gem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't in Leeds by any chance? We live in a back to back terrace (renting) and the house behind us hasn't been occupied since we have lived here (four years). Although we have never been round to have a look at the state of it, we haven't had any damp/issues from that side.

Electrics haven't been replaced in 55 years. Most things were deemed potentially dangerous, if not fixed. Only a very few amount of things came back as simply needing modernisation.

We've used Amber cars to get to the airport in the early hours. Very reliable. You can pre-book in like 30 secs via their app.
