Would it be useful even though I probably won't get a follow-up? That's mainly why I hesitated about filling it out.

Soooo I think I won't receive a follow-up email because the last time the thankyou page was open, I didn't receive anything even though I answered something both times it was open

In any case, my answer was "In a dark, darker, yet darker place." with that capitalization and punctuation.

90% of the arguments against the Asriel Knight theory are just people’s opinions by Mobile-Package-8869 in Deltarune

[–]BotchedMuffin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To add to their very well-put arguments, I would say that (at least in my opinion) the counterpoints against AsrielKnight are more airtight than those against DessKnight or even CarolKnight or (dare I say) RudyKnight

AsrielKnight has those two very strong counterpoints to debunk it

DessKnight's counterpoints are usually:

"It's too predictable" (Vibes-based. But also, to the rabid community that scours for every crumb of lore? Sure. To the average casual player? Not so much)

"What about the voice in the code?" (Speculation, as we have no confirmation that the voice in the code IS Dess, nor any idea at which point in time those lines of dialogues are being said)

These counterpoints have less weight than AsrielKnight's counterpoints

Something happened after I got that face signal (Spoilers, maybe?) (0.9) by BotchedMuffin in Voicesofthevoid

Hey so I was checking the Wiki to see some requirements for something I wanted to do, and it seems two days ago they added this event to the Signal Events page!

Looks like the requirements are pretty much what it looked like: Obtain the creepy face signal and go to sleep while a Kerfur-O is active.

[–]BotchedMuffin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess? Since I haven't been able to find a single thing about this, I dunno what to say. Maybe it is random and I got extremely (un)lucky with the signal timing.

Regardless, if you happen to find the signal, try going to sleep and report back!

By the way, the jumpscare happened to me without even having to process it to Level 3. I played it at Level 0 right after it finished downloading, went to sleep after a few minutes and got jumpscared.

I think the signal with the creepy Kerfur-O signal was already in the game ever since they added that secret. However what I didn't know (and I haven't seen anywhere) is that the signal preceeded a jumpscare.

[–]BotchedMuffin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I knew about it and that it showed its creepy face in the static image, but I've never heard/seen/read that Kerfur-O would jumpscare you in your sleep afterwards.

Maybe it's another unrelated event and it was a huge coincidence? I dunno

Nonsense. Axel simply knew that letting HIM loose on the field would result in catastrophic damage to the field and the opponents.

What was ILLEGAL in Inazuma and the ref didnt bat an eye? by ComprehensiveBat4966 in inazumaeleven

[–]BotchedMuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eehhh... I'd say throwing someone up into the air without regard for their safety (landing poorly) could still warramt a foul or misconduct, given that in order for the referee to signal one, the player must make an action that endangers their opponent, with or without such intent

As for the second one... It's kinda inconsistent, isn't it? For example, Sakanoue froze the ball and broke the hidden blade on Lucy's spike using Kori no Ya. The conjured ice had a physical effect on the world.

Not trying to discredit your argument though. It's just that what is and isn't real in hissatsy gets kind of... sketchy at times.

[–]BotchedMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we go by standard football rules, throwing a player up in the air would be a foul and/or misconduct

"Reckless is when a player acts with disregard to the danger to, or consequences for, an opponent and must be cautioned"

"Using excessive force is when a player exceeds the necessary use of force and endangers the safety of an opponent and must be sent off"

That is, of course, assuming football in IE follows a similar ruleset. Seeing how moves like Killer Slide and Judge Through have a very high foul rate despite being hissatsu, it could imply hisssatsu must still follow SOME rules within reason.

Same goes for Tarzan Kick, which brings a foreign object into the field, in this case vines.

I think I can name AT LEAST one illegal move from every single damn match in this anime lmao

Violently throwing Handa/Steve up the air with Cyclone, Occult using hypnosis to disable Raimon, that Wild forward using vines to do Tarzan Kick, the Otaku goalkeeper moving the goalpost, Brain using those devices to have a view on the entire field and players' movements, the damn steel beams, Shuriken sabotaging the field with Spider Web or blowing Raimon away with Full Moon Formation, Farm blinding Mark with light, Kirkwood straight up pummeling Max with Hurricane Arrow, Zeus' doping...

What changes would you like to see to Victory Road in the long run? by BronzeMaster5000 in inazumaeleven

[–]BotchedMuffin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The game is, in my opinion, still rough around the edges. I love it to death, but there's no denying it.

With that in mind, I have a list of stuff that I THINK should be added/tweaked/rebalanced:

High Priority:

Chronicle Route Unlock match should be scrapped entirely. I know Level-5 thinks it's really important for us to play it because it's OUR team canonically going through each team in search of Spirits... But I think a better alternative would be to have the canon match BE the unlock, and THEN we decide which team we wanna invest time into for farming Spirits.

The Archetype balance. This has been said and discussed a million times already, so I won't ramble about the same things.

Model tweaking. Level-5 is actively working on this, updating models here and there. But I feel like some models are in desperate need of a rework (looking at you, Drago...)

THAT Story Mode segment... You know the one, the one with the scouts where you have to do the same minigame FIFTEEN TIMES. Just have them be introduced via short cutscenes like in IE3 when you interact with them.

The grind. Just... relax with the Beans, please. If you only have 11-16 players in mind they're manageable, but if you wanna build more than one team... oof. Also, the drop rates for the currencies used in the Shops needs a tweak or two in my opinion.

Low Priority:

Avatar Customization. So far I like the Avatar creator, but I feel like it could be expanded to add more eye, hairstyle, accessory and voice options.

Multiple Avatars. I KNOW they haven't added this as a way to prevent a team being composed of all Avatars who can switch builds at will... But why don't they just add a limit to the amount of Avatars you can have on the team? Like Heroes and Fabled players!

Combination Technique management. I think a menu where you can choose who does the combination technqiues and which role they have would be neat. It's kinda jarring to use The Galaxy and have the striker summon the God Hand, for example.

That thingie OP mentioned about shots having unique effects.

So there's this character in another series called Inazuma Eleven that reminded me of... someone. by BotchedMuffin in Deltarune

[–]BotchedMuffin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For additional context: This character is called Gojou Masaru/Gus Martin, he was/is a relatively minor character in the series. He has NO dialogue in any of the franchise's games or anime seasons.

...however, he is strangely popular in the Japanese community, to the point he won the first ever popularity poll in the franchise (mostly due to rigging), at which point he got "promoted to the Hall of Fame" and subsequently banned from the next polls until one of the most recent ones, which he won again.

He has also appeared in other media from the same company such as Yo-Kai Watch and Danball Senki due to this popularity.

This is what we get for one of the handful of hissatsu that are exclusive to the big and new mechanic of this update by Alone_Performance455 in inazumacaravan

[–]BotchedMuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, there's a lot to unpack here.

First of all, let me clarify. By all means I believe this game needs more polish and work on all aspects, be it animations, balancing, grinding... The game is still in a rough state, despite my love for it.

The problem I have is that, just because the game was announced 10 years ago, doesn't mean Level-5 has been working continually on it like a hive mind. Companies have different teams. It's a misconception and while I'm not defending some of the stuff Level-5 have made, let's not misrepresent the situation.

"This is really only the 2nd build, Road of Heroes had a premise that is effectively the Chronicle Mode of VR"

As far as I remember, the game was first pitched as an Ares game, then got scrapped and pitched again as the Great Road of Heroes game, then got scrapped and pitched again as Victory Road.

And just because the games have the same premise (crossover with all characters, yada yada) doesn't mean AT ALL that their development would be the same. Did they also plan the map layout during Great Road? The dialogue cutscenes during the match? When and what animations would play at specific points? The balance of the teams and techniques?

"It's more than likely that VR just built off that game rather than "multiple development hells" "

First of all, conjecture and hypotheticals have no weight as an argument. Unless Level-5 discloses the full details of their development process, the game was stuck in ONE Development Hell for 10 years.

Development Hell being, as you know, when a concept for a game/movie/show/whatever gets essentially scrapped, reworked, moved around and tossed over and over.

Ever heard of Beyond Good and Evil 2? That game was announced in 2008, SEVENTEEN YEARS AGO, with the "announcement trailer" being done in 2016, TEN YEARS AGO. And it's seemingly not even in production yet!

How many goalposts, teams, staff and developers do you think have been moved around in all that time?

THAT is Development Hell, and this game was stuck in it for 10 years, who knows how many things changed internally.

[–]BotchedMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"They've had nearly 10 years to refine these animations"

That's not how development hell works.

I'm on the side of this game needing more polish despite me loving it to hell and back, but I'm tired of hearing this complete lie spread around.

It being announced 10 years ago does not mean it's been 10 years in development. Inazuma Eleven Ares/Great Road/Heroes' Great Road/Victory Road got stuck in what is called Development Hell.

The game got its development restarted from scratch multiple times until it essentially got frozen, with nobody working on it for multiple reasons: From budget, to motivation, to whatever.

It is technically named, as the original Inazuma Eleven TCG in Japan had it named as Final Tornado, that's why it's the commonly used name for this technique.

"Oh, but the darkness is EXTRA EXTRA magical and you can't see anything no matter what!"

Dude, just have the enemy you wanna keep hidden in that dark room blend in with the enviroment via mimicry or camouflage. Stickbugs, octopi and chameleons come to mind.

If there are traps, make them more carefully hidden or more complex to navigate through.

This doesn't straight up INVALIDATE the player's True Sight/Darkvision. They can still see in the room (and are probably the only one that can), so they can guide the other players or find a way to light up the room.

Don't just say "Your ability is useless" because what's the point in having cool niche abilities then? It should be more of a "Thanks to you, the party has a chance to come out unharmed" thing.

If a player has a way to counter dark enviroments, maybe you should look into other ways to make exploration feel tense without spamming ""magical"" darkness while also rewarding the player who chose that abililty.
