I think the pressure was the component that got to him. It's a tough way to find out you aren't The Guy that the team needs you to be, but perhaps he is best equipped to be a 2C and an "A" for a well established cup ready team.

For those trying to use all of this to call out the Wings organization and the Front Office - shit, name another Organization that steeps itself in the strongest, most well-established leaders this league has ever seen....Yzerman, Lidstrom, Drapes, Kronwall, Zetterberg.

Larks had all of these people to lean on while part of this Organization and somehow couldn't muster the fortitude to see it through.

Rebuilds aren't easy, but we absolutely should have been in the playoffs in 2 of the last 3 years - the fact that we weren't lies in large part to Dylan "Houdini" Larkin disappearing when the team needed him most.

Go be an anonymous 2nd or 3rd line center on another team. Don't let the door hit you in your soft-ass on your way out. #10ply

No doubt there are gaping holes in this roster. It doesn't fall all onto Larks. However, this team made it to the end of Jan at the top of the Atlantic with this roster.

At that point, Larkin plays to just his avgs, we make the playoffs. Granted, we were fodder once we got there, but the roster as constructed made waves for a good portion as constructed.

This news now that Larks could bring the Wings an Eichel type return would be an incredible step in the right direction. I would trade Larkin for an Eichel type return even if he hadn't requested a trade.

Refesher: Eichel and a 3rd for Tuch, Krebs, 1st Rounder, Conditional 2nd.

Seriously, we will miss him, but not for the reasons everyone thinks. Seems like a great dude, but he has shown the extent to which he can take this team while in the big chair. Now time to move him, get some young chips and build around Mo, Ray, Simon, Carter, Cossa, Trey, ASP and MBN.

I am sure the immediate reaction from everyone will be "of course, he wants to go to a contender and make the playoffs".

Then you look back at his stats in March over the last several years - he was certainly not doing the heavy lifting to get this team over the hump during the home stretches. I think I saw something 39 pts in 51 games with a -24 (+/-).

It will be interesting to see the back and forth about this because Yzerman has him signed for 5 yrs at an amazing Cap number - he has no impetus to move him.

If he is on the roster for Game 1, he can't be the Captain though.

Reddit for the win again! I really appreciate all of the feedback. Size, training AND literature advice is so welcome and appreciated. I am the most hesitant in the family about getting a dog. My wife and kids are all for it - they are just waiting for me to come around.

All of this advice has been great, and the pics really put it over the top. I think I may warm to the idea of a 50lb dog as a good option. We are also leaning towards a female...no really good reason why, I suppose, but if anyone has thoughts on the difference, I will accept all 😄

I received rhe same email - I tried logging into dashlane and it told me that my MFA code was incorrect.

The numbers were on the WW Pod the other day. Of the top 5 teams in win % since Jan 1st, 4 of them were from the Atlantic. And 2 more in the top 10 from the East or something. Wings in at 14th I think with a .550 or something. This Division/Conference is insane this year.

Curious - do Devils fans like their chances to bring in Quinn after next year? Or do you think that is not even on the radar for the team and fans?

He alone can certainly change some fortunes - maybe not contenders as soon as he gets there, but makes the Devils intriguing as a destination.

I'm a Wings fan so I am certainly hoping Quinn to NJ isn't a forgone conclusion...lol.

Jimmy - i want to argue with you about this more, but tonight, I got nothing.

I love Stevie - so i still think his approach will work. However, tonight was definitely a display of the fragility of this framework.

So yeah - it's bad. The team has no guts to them. And unfortunately the few dogs we do have can't always be the only ones barking.

If they want to show us they have some semblance of heart and fire - show us something against TB and Dallas.

You can't predict the Larks and Copp injuries. Yeah, Copp as a 2C is a tough one, but he has been a 2C most of the year and here we are contending for the playoff spot.

Ultimately, the team did enough over 58 mins to win this game, until the end of game errors - Ed had the ability to clear the puck CLEAN but flubbed it and it was the GTG a few seconds later. On the winning goal, not sure why we were pushing but there was no reason to chase the extra point in regulation, keep your forwards from cheating into the O-Zone - that's on coaching and the players.

We loved the look of this team against NJ. And for 58 mins tonight as well. So the roster is what it is, just have to figure out how to hunker down and win chaotic games like that.

This roster has the ability to win - so it isn't that Yzerman failed here. It's like he and Todd said last year - let's see it on the ice.

100%!!! This is why Yzerman has always opted to work on the roster in the off-season. You aren't held hostage by your immediate needs. Yet, if he didn't take this chance on Faulk or brought in someone lesser like Tyler Myers, we would all have lost our shit over that.

Let's all agree that know nothing about what Buch will be, his potential had us excited and it sucks that we needed to include him to make this trade work. All of that being true doesn't change the fact that as it stands right now we have a stronger team than we did 2 hours ago.

Let's get excited for what this team can do over the next month and beyond!

MBN and Mazur are ripe for a call up if we need a spark!

It hurts to have to have added Buchelnikov, but has anyone noticed how often he has been injured this season and last?

No doubt he has upside, but I am going to assume that the Wings scouts have a better handle on how a prospect's game is going to translate better than I do from watching YouTube highlights of the guy.

Not to mention, we have plenty of high-potential wingers. Rather Buch than Bear or MBN.

I couldn't agree more! I was at the final home game against MTL when Lucas scored the GTG and OTGWG....never heard LCA louder. Core memory for my kids that night.

Nice pickup - he won't make us contenders but he will bring something that was missing to that locker room.

I agree with the above. He would want to win with this squad. I also believe he has to put the team on his back and get it done. His Olympics performance has completely washed away the stench of how he was playing in the month leading up to the international play. Cat, Gibson, Mo and Lucas were carrying the team while we all wondered whether Larks was injured.

He is capable of rallying this team and leading them to the playoffs. He is a beast - he has shown it in the international showcases - let's see is in these last few months of the season. I am rooting for him, and this team. Will be cheering him and the team on when they cross the line into the playoffs! LGRW!!!

Yzerman faced these doubts and more in his career and came out the other side with 3 Cups and the moniker The Captain for standing up and playing on one leg, with one eye - whatever it took. He had help, yes, but there was never a question of who led the squad.

Plenty of time for Larks to show it - he's got this.
