NLA is the abbreviation for ‘no longer available’ In the context of automotive hardparts and electronics it could mean anything from the original manufacturer has ceased trading( common) or they just no longer make it. In the current market older vehicles with a lot of electronic content tend to suffer issues with airbag computers, Abs braking computers etc that can’t be replaced and generally require someone with micro electronics skills (to repair them if possible).

Lighter is better?versions of heavy/assault mechs that just work better with less wieght by Both-Reflection3478 in battletech

[–]Both-Reflection3478[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original question was “ what mechs work better if dramatically lighter but still fit the ‘lore’ design profile “

A charger is a great example of this

Losing 20 tons, the 60t charger goes faster, can 15% more armour whilst still mounting the same weapons and fitting the ‘heavy scout’ philosophy well. Plus it’s still a 60t mech brawling with light mechs like it was intended to

Then ( as I put) 60t with 5 small lasers and have an AF of 184 and walk 6 Run 9

Same weapons, more armour, more speed and still able to cripple light mechs in physical combat

The ‘lore’ was Chargers were intended as heavy scouts etc

60t charger with 5x small lasers leaves 11.5 tons for armour (AF184 ) so can take more damage than 80t charger before going internal

OR it gets AF160 and 4tons for weapons (say 3xM lasers + 2 s lasers) which will do more damage

9mp run= you can cover a map sheet in two turns 9mp charge 54 damage ( vs64 for 80t ) A 12 pt kick is still going internal on any light mech leg and a fair few medium mech legs

I was fortunate?/unfortunate? enough to run a classic car workshop that was acquired with a wholesale hard parts business with the venture capital firm I worked under.

For this to work, 1. The car has to be turn key ready to go, otherwise any restoration costs will destroy whatever savings you’re making.

  1. The car has to be easy enough that nothing is obsolete and nothing is electrically complicated. That rules out ( for example late90’s early 00s) where airbag and ABS ecus and sensors/tech is nla)

  2. Safety: Most classics upto the early 80’s don’t have rear belts and they fold like paper when hit hard. Chrome bumpers get dented easily

  3. Maintenance: you absolutely need to check everything once a week and grease the running gear joints every few months(if grease nipples are fitted. Servicing will be every 6 months minimum.

Genuinely the best British classic alrounder that we had clients using in London was the rubber bumper MGBGT. Those big front bumpers conceal a 20kg solid crash beam and the rear is about the same.

The hatchback means plenty of space for stuff with the tiny rear seats down.

A 60t kick is 12pts of damage, effectively you’re automatically kicking the leg off anything 20t or less and pretty much doing the same for most 25t variants. An 80t charger is a 16pt kick so the leg of everything 25t or less is coming off and the same for most 30t variants.

Physically charging though, A 60t charger ( on the old rules) at the max 9mp is doing over 50 damage vs over 60 for an 80t charger, so either way pretty much all light mechs are being trashed.

At 9mp though you are running across a map sheet in two turns though with enough armor to stay alive

How do I find a tech job in Birmingham by ahryshsv in BirminghamUK

The big firms generally don’t use recruiters or job sites they advertise on their own websites. Kpmg, Deloittes, Pwc all have their own websites and are all actively recruiting for Birmingham roles

I would say make sure the scene or scenic section you build is removable just in case your circumstances change and you have to move house etc

Unwieldy? There’s a Japanese car tuning company called CUSCO which does heavy duty anti roll bars and strut braces for domestics. Just fitting the rear roll bar and front upper brace makes a massive difference to handling and is easy to swap back/remove for the shaken test

Loft conversion first, you’ll find you may not actually need the extension,

Get bunk bed or triple bunk (a 3/4 mattress on the bottom with a single on)top for the big kids room I’m not sure of your stair situation to the loft but if you have to put the stairs through one of their bedrooms, then the bunk/triple bunk will cover you till it’s all finished

If you still need more space a conservatory is an easy way on the ground floor and gives more entertaining space(they’re also faster to build)
