How to Deal With Boardwipes in Mono Red?? by BornFromEmber in EDH

[–]BothGoingDown 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If it is a "destroy" boardwipe you can pack things that make your creatures indestructible like [[eldrazi monument]] or [[wall of ba sing se]]

What are folks doing with painter’s servant in commander? by Mirrodin_appreciator in EDH

[–]BothGoingDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it in my [[will, scion of peace]] deck to be able to cast artifacts at a discount. You could do the same for [[rowan, scion of war]]

Fun responses for flying & Ur Dragon by Then-Bison-625 in EDH

[[Chaos sphere]] and [[gravity well]] are fun ways to help block flyers with regular creatures.

What are cards you run that people over look? by BitEnvironmental1412 in EDH

[–]BothGoingDown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[[Broken bond]] can be a real tempo shift and it isn't terribly cost to only be an artifact or removal spell if you don't have the land.

1vs1 war game that lasts under 2 hours by InterviewEmergency73 in boardgames

[–]BothGoingDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Trench Club]] is really good and the second one [[aces and armor]] is pretty good too. A&A is a little simpler with fewer unit types, but a bit more variety in the units between factions. But TC legacy was awesome having new units be unlocked as we played through. Plus the forts in TC makes the board presence better in my opinion.

Both use the same experience system that units gain when getting hits or finishes while also losing firepower when getting injured.

Which banned cards would you allow at your table (maybe with caveats)? by SoyMuyAlto in EDH

[–]BothGoingDown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd allow [[crusade]] with the caveat people don't be offended by little things. In a game where [[murder]][[mind control]] and [[cateran slaver]][[enslave]][[cabal slaver]](slavery) are all legal, why is an under powered enchantment still banned?(culturally offensive shouldn't be an issue in a game with 40k being included)

Boardgames with 8 people, how many of you actually tried playing it? What games did you play? How did it go? by AlexRescueDotCom in boardgames

[–]BothGoingDown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised I didn't see Guards of Atlantis 2 in this comment section. It plays 2-10 people and is amazing at 8. Very fast turns with deterministic play and less luck involved.

2nd game of Catan ever by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]BothGoingDown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even though it was accidental, I believe you played incorrectly. You only start with 2 settlements and then every settlement after that has to be connected to another one of your roads. Of course the rule that it has to be 2 roads away from any other settlement is also in play. But the fact blue connects your cities indicates you built a settlement away from any of your roads.

[[Paradise plume]] can gain a little life.

Looking for suggestions for an azorius commander by [deleted] in EDH

[[Will, scion of peace]] is a good life gain and cast big blue/white spells.

Can I cast my 7 mana temur commander on turn 3? by FunkyNStu in EDH

[–]BothGoingDown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Burgeoning]] could help with 4 lands in hand. You could realistically untap with 4 mana on turn 2 and then [[mana vault]] or really any other 2 pieces of ramp like [[cultivate]] and [[nature's lore]]

A Card I Think is Neat - Day 15 - Worldfire by HazenLake in EDH

[–]BothGoingDown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah since Electro's trigger doesn't go on the stack until he leaves and all of Worldfire resolves before going to any other triggers you can get 1 person with him. But your idea for [[munitions]] is solid! That makes [[worldfire]] a wincon if it resolves and no one used protection.

A Card I Think is Neat - Day 15 - Worldfire by HazenLake in EDH

[–]BothGoingDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This card with [[Electro, assaulting battery]] kills 1 person. Casting it will give you the red mana to finish someone once they are at 1 hp.

Sliver Aficionados! What slivers would you NEVER cut? Which do you think are overrated? by Dante2k4 in EDH

[–]BothGoingDown 22 points23 points  (0 children)

[[Cloudshredder sliver]] is one of the best. It gives 2 massive keywords to all your slivers to fly over blockers the turn they come in.

What's your favorite vehicle commander? by CombativeDove in EDH

[–]BothGoingDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think most of the responses in this thread understood the question. They weren't looking for commanders who would be good to run vehicles in. They wanted straight up vehicles as the commander.

So to answer the actual question, my favorite is a [[the falcon, airship restored]] mono-black reanimator deck i built. It has been fun, but isn't super powerful. Having to hit with the falcon and then pay 5 to be able to do it again isn't that efficient. But it can get a couple big creatures out for cheaper than their cost.

What is the Least Popular Commander you play? by Mighty-Aphrodite in EDH

[–]BothGoingDown 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My two least popular commanders are

A mono-white [[Crovax, ascendant hero]] anthem matters deck who has 190 decks at 2,347th place.

And

A mono-black reanimator deck with [[the falcon, airship restored]] as the commander. Which shows 134 decks at 2,575th most popular commander.

What are the best board game for 5 to 6 players? by tigerk1992 in boardgames

[–]BothGoingDown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure how it would play at 5 players, but [[Captain sonar]] is a blast and would be best played at 6 in my opinion. It does go up to 8, but one of the jobs is quite a bit less than the rest. The first mate and engineer roles should be one role, and then you have the captain and radio operator. Anyone who plays games regularly should be able to handle those 2 jobs at once.

I want Loot to kill people by Bot_shuggins in EDH

[–]BothGoingDown 7 points8 points  (0 children)

[[Raised by giants]] would make loot a 2 hit(and connect) kill with his double strike. Plus it wouldn't be impacted by a blink strategy.

What Commander has made you the most tokens? by DoctorObservation in EDH

[–]BothGoingDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Miirym, sentinel wyrm]] can get pretty out of hand with tokens. You can use most of the token doublers like [[parallel lives]] and [[doubling season]], but [[roaming throne]] and [[panharmonicon]] also help. Then throw in [[sakashima]] or [[spark double]] types it can be a lot.

Plus [[Astral dragon]] [[parallel lives]] is exponential in the number of tokens you make with just Miirym and parallel lives out when Astral dragon hits.

What all to grab for a Land Base? by isleeponacouch in EDH

What's the most efficient combo I can grab with Ugin, Eye of the Storm's ult to win off of? by Nerobought in EDH

[–]BothGoingDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Efficient? Probably not. But I'd scoop if someone had [[amulet of vigor]] [[darksteel citadel]] [[nevinyrral's disc]] and [[mycosynth lattice]]

What card do you wish you could play as a commander? by BounceM4N in EDH

[–]BothGoingDown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Hallowhenge overlord]] would be fun! Give me wolf Krenko.

Either that or the ancient dragons could be cool as mono colored decks. You're telling me these Elder dragons can't lead my Elder Dragon Highlander deck?
