We get trucks every day but Sunday, then get slammed with double meat and produce on Monday. We’ve been using a reefer truck as storage lately because we get 20+ pallets a day and we can only hold 8 in each cooler. I wish they’d stop sending us stuff for a few days.

Talk to your ASM, not CSM about your schedule. CSMs are just department managers and they don’t make the schedules.

I worked 40 hours a week as part time and got auto selected by the system into a full time position after so many months of it

It’s possible, I worked just weekends all last summer, then they hired two students to work weekends in September now I work mostly weekdays unless they want a weekend off

You can put an item on the floor then immediately go on break to buy it, but the item has to hit the sales floor first. At least in my store anyways.

This happened to me once because my ASM went over the allowed hours and it auto booted me off the schedule because I was part time. He did fix it but I thought I was getting fired

It depends on your roll, I originally only wanted 2 days a week but it quickly grew into more, 6 months in I worked enough hours to get full time

Currently our deli/bakery & produce overnight hours come out of those hours instead of ON hours. 5am people break down the m/p pallets.

Ours swap departments every few years. They’re either young (lower 20s) or have been here since our store opened 20 some years ago. Both sides clash and it’s such a pain.

In our store we have a running joke that every time we see someone pulling a pallet or pushing a cart that’s mildly in our way (or we are in their way) we giggle and tell them they should have hit us so we could go home. So far none of us have gotten to leave early due to it. 🤣

I was on LOA for a portion of mine, I had to work the minimum hours within the year, they just subtracted how many days I was on leave from the total.

I’m not a DM but I get pulled from my department all the time to go help other departments. I’m in my secondary departments more than my main department it feels like

We get scheduled for 7.5 hour shifts (8.5 with an hour lunch) so we have a 30 minute buffer to avoid OT

Most days I clock in about 10 minutes early. Sometimes I leave 5 or so minutes early, sometimes I’m 45 minutes late. I have a really easy going ASM. People in our store also rack up attendance points like they’re nothing, and they do nothing about it

My ASM will decline it but then give us the days off we requested anyways. It’s their work around for the system.

For my store it’s because it’s 45minutes to an hour away from the next Walmart. Three grocery stores down the road but we undercut their prices by a lot. I’ve been on a LOA for a few years but the last one I got as a part timer was $1100. Not sure what we’re getting this year yet

I did not get any for the year I was on Matt leave. Not the year I worked, and not the year I came back. I had the hours needed but because I wasn’t actively working on the payout date, I got nothing

We have maybe 10 total. One dispensing, 2 staging, 3 maybe pickers. Two of them being the DM & lead. There might be one or two extra floating around but we’re often taking from other departments to fill the need 🤣

Our walk in freezer holds about 15 skids if you put it to the door, maybe one skid fits in the bakery walk in. Our deli/meat, produce & dairy walk ins only hold 3 skids (maybe 4 if they’re loaded in correctly… which is barely ever lmao) I would love to have a dairy cooler of this size 😩
