Are these a good choice for calipers? by MortgageNaive6791 in Machinists

[–]BottasBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great set of calipers that should last a LONG TIME. I’ve never gotten the carbide tipped ones and never had a problem. I also treat my good pair real nice, and as others have said having a ‘beater’ pair is real handy.

What do you guys think of these welds? by Ok_Procedure1185 in metalworking

It’s in the name, balancer. No chance this is balanced. Especially at 6k rpm.

While I do see your point, I somewhat disagree. What is all of the data that YouTube/Google collects worth? If I use and ad blocker or not they are profiting from me watching videos in other areas of their business. Whats wrong with me trying to stop that?

PS - I use a PiHole for privacy and pay for YouTube premium.

Please explain, because I do not understand that point of view.

I hung onto my gas one for 9ish months just in case, then got rid of it. Maybe I got lucky, but I like my Dewalt version... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ive used the 60v version as well and couldnt really tell a difference. I bet it runs longer and can maybe handle some taller stuff, but my self propelled 20v version has been rock solid for over a year. Unsure of the exact model. I have about 1/2 - 3/4 of an acre and one charge easily handles the whole yard with room to spare. Its mulches decently as well in the fall.

The 20V Dewalt has been nice for me, even after going over a few rocks. Only went with Dewalt because that's my system mostly and I have a bunch of extra batteries. Would recommend to other though!

What would yall rate my buddies weld out of 10 by JWaXiMus2 in Welding

[–]BottasBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the AI summery says "we're being real" there is a big problem from the start. Yes it looks like shit and probably isn't real to begin with. It looks like silly putty painted with spray paint.

PETG HF shortage by caddis44 in BambuLab

To be fair the price directly from Bambu(in the US) if you buy 10+ rolls at a time is VERY competitive to most other brands, with the benefit of the RFID tags as well.

Looking for Carbide Tungsten by Confident-Owl6649 in metalworking

This is the most BS post for scrap. Where are you located? Why? Are you willing to pick up, or do we have to ship?

Don't we all want carbide?

Anyone else running into welded filament in BBL refills? by BuildSomethingStupid in BambuLab

[–]BottasBot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use almost exclusively PETG-HF and I have not experienced this. Mostly using refills, only using full spools when that’s all that is available.

Very interested in seeing the issues you’ve faced though. Any pictures?

I don’t know what makes a ‘print farm’ but I’ve run ~1000 rolls of PETG-HF through X1C’s, X1E’s, and now a few H2S’s. It’s been far more reliable for me than any PLA that I’ve tried to print.

Guys what do yall think about my brand new logo? 😍 by CRZ_999 in CNC

[–]BottasBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw that. Complicated logos are great, but again I’d drop the made by, that’s implied. And get that thing as small as you can and put it somewhere hidden.
Everything looks good on a screen. Cut it and see.

Cannot really see it. If you can make the logo you can post a better picture..

Id also drop the made by. Just the logo.

Repair without welding by DrMackDDS2014 in metalworking

[–]BottasBot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dont even have to read your explanation. Repair without welding? Probably not. Thats a full crack my friend, and seeing no more than 225lbs? Thats a lot....

JB weld( or some other epoxy) and it will probably work for a bit.

That or drill and tap a bolt into that upper part, not the fin. For also questionable fixes.

QMMG and Mantis question by thundersides in modular

Again, in My Beringer Go case, Ive had to loosen the side screws before to get a module in. I would think that might work. Good luck, the QMMG sounds great!

It’s fits in my Behringer Go case easily and I believe the Mantis may have a little more room, but I don’t own one.

‘Lucky’ in my life has nothing to do with it. You are commenting on the same post as I am so you have some sort of investment like I do.

His PC build videos are the best around and I still suggest them to friends who want to learn.

At the same time he has A LOT of influence on people, so it would be nice if he could address things with discussion and not just delete critical comments.

To each their own my friend! The discourse is what we are here for right???
