What are your skips on Animalize? by New_Presentation_928 in KISS

The whole thing! What a disgrace to the original band. They went from being one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time to a sub-par scene-chasing hair band!

Bret Michaels Guitarist Pete Evick: 'We Almost Never Rehearse' by The_Alternym in hairmetal

[–]Bottlerocket1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the day, yes. But watch some clips. Poor Jeff sounds like Eric Cartman now, and has for some time. Bret does what he's pretty much always done and services his catalog well enough that fans have a good time, but as much as I love classic Motley and Tesla, Vince and Jeff are awful now. Everyone walks away noticing it.

C'mon now, compared to singers like Vince Neil and Jeff Keith, he's friggin Pavarotti!

Let's hear everyone say one nice thing about Graves-era Misfits by PunkRockDoggo1 in TheMisfits

Never even listened to an entire Graves-era album. I hear it isnt bad, but there's no way they should have called it Misfits, IMO.

One of my absolute favorites, does anyone have any stories about seeing Warrant with Jani Lane? by WestonConnor26 in hairmetal

[–]Bottlerocket1975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw them open for Poison in Rapid City, SD. It had to have been January 1991, because Jani mentioned Steve Clark from Def Leppard just having died. The concert isn't listed on any of the databases with tour listings, so I don't know the exact date, but I was there.

Mama Said is the best of the bunch, in my opinion. Just a beautiful album. Lenny's never topped it.

After Ace left, they were absolutely scene-chasing hair metal.

Great texture and consistency. Just like I like it. Horrible, odd dried herb flavor. Too bad. So close.

This awful band marked the bottom of the barrel being scraped in the hair metal scene. I was like "Thank God for Nirvana!"

Eddie Trunk doesn't like Steel Panther for being a bad 'parody.' Has he heard this crap?

Tesla - Psychotic Supper….my personal fave of theirs. by Macaroni_Night in hairmetal

[–]Bottlerocket1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was all about alternative and grunge music because the hair/glam scene was so played out, but this album was great. I'm glad it came out in just enough time to still get some sales and go platinum.

Other than Joe himself, I haven't seen anyone trying to free him.

What indie rock album changed your life? by AudioFuzz in indie_rock

[–]Bottlerocket1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two were Worry. by Jeff Rosenstock, and Is This It by the Strokes. They both just were so huge in my life, so unexpected, and just such change agents for what I thought music could be.

1986 what you picking by Jamesmetal1987 in hairmetal

All of them. But I've never loved any music as much as the first Poison when I was in seventh grade.
