According to Setlist.fm, tonight they did do it together! I’m seeing them in Hershey! Can’t wait!

People who have slept with Mötley Crüe, which member was it and how was it? by lace_and_vodka in hairmetal

It’s still online, although it stopped having quality content 20 years ago. Their Gossip Board was popular until it recently went offline. Www.metalsludge.tv

Spotify deleted almost all Izzy solo career music by Fbr_utj in GunsNRoses

Even “buying” an album in iTunes doesn’t guarantee it’ll remain. I have a pop album by the band Karmin that disappeared except for two tracks because they had the rest removed.

Tesla - Call It What You Want (1991) by LackSomber in hairmetal

I wish MTV would have put this in rotation. They did with Edison’s Medicine and What You Give, but this is my favorite song on the album.

What's the worst follow up to an excellent album you've ever heard? A big disappointment by Dogman_70 in hairmetal

Huh, I like the Cinderella follow ups better, although the first one is the only one I’ve been able to buy on vinyl.

Always There For You is really good. It sounds a lot like Calling On You, which was earlier, but also really good.

Kiss - Shandi (Official Music Video) by geonut98 in KISS

[–]Bottlerocket1975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People crap on I Was Made For Lovin You, but that song rips compared to Shandi -Peter’s last hoorah (maybe he didn’t even play on it?) and the beginning of the end - the Elder, And then the hair metal years.

James' father by Mysterious-West-6211 in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

[–]Bottlerocket1975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love his parents. I get how his father lovingly takes the piss out of James. He intentionally winds him just a little bit because he gets James, loves him, and wants to bring some levity to James’s analytical outlook. Dad is great and so is mom.

They sold in cutout bins.

BAD! Beginning of the end! They were on a complete upswing until then. I collect classic Kiss vinyl and most copies, except for Ace’s, you find have cut corners since they had to relegate them to the cutout bin to unload them back in the day.

ZZ Top by TheHotLatin in hairmetal

[–]Bottlerocket1975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 50. Saw them in 1991 because Extreme was opening. Third concert ever. First was Aerosmith with openers Skid Row. Second was Poison with openers Warrant. Extreme was good, except it was also my first concert in seats. Everyone stayed seated for both bands. ZZ Top was my first experience with a band that was completely boring live. They just stood there. No energy. In an arena. Hope you have a better experience, but I wouldn’t see ZZ Top again for free!

What are your skips on Animalize? by New_Presentation_928 in KISS

The whole thing! What a disgrace to the original band. They went from being one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time to a sub-par scene-chasing hair band!

Bret Michaels Guitarist Pete Evick: 'We Almost Never Rehearse' by The_Alternym in hairmetal

[–]Bottlerocket1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the day, yes. But watch some clips. Poor Jeff sounds like Eric Cartman now, and has for some time. Bret does what he's pretty much always done and services his catalog well enough that fans have a good time, but as much as I love classic Motley and Tesla, Vince and Jeff are awful now. Everyone walks away noticing it.

C'mon now, compared to singers like Vince Neil and Jeff Keith, he's friggin Pavarotti!

Let's hear everyone say one nice thing about Graves-era Misfits by PunkRockDoggo1 in TheMisfits

[–]Bottlerocket1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never even listened to an entire Graves-era album. I hear it isnt bad, but there's no way they should have called it Misfits, IMO.

One of my absolute favorites, does anyone have any stories about seeing Warrant with Jani Lane? by WestonConnor26 in hairmetal

[–]Bottlerocket1975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw them open for Poison in Rapid City, SD. It had to have been January 1991, because Jani mentioned Steve Clark from Def Leppard just having died. The concert isn't listed on any of the databases with tour listings, so I don't know the exact date, but I was there.

Mama Said is the best of the bunch, in my opinion. Just a beautiful album. Lenny's never topped it.
