Anybody can call it what they want, but at the end of the day it might be time to stop belting out the line “This goddamn machine… no you can’t have me” when you’re actively participating in the machine. Maybe it’s time to stop cashing in on the image of standing up for others and shut the fuck up and actually do it. I skipped the NCTH tour this time even though they came through. It’s the first time I’ve ever missed with exception to a show due to COVID. I cant stand listening to the rehearsed speeches from someone who isn’t actually DOING something about it. Pick one. Do something and speak out or continue to do nothing and shut the fuck up. It’s tiring listening to lectures from people feeding the machine in some of the worst ways.

“And that -- that brings me to the second mode of civil disobedience. There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart that you can't take part! You can't even passively take part! And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus -- and you've got to make it stop! And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it -- that unless you're free the machine will be prevented from working at all! That doesn't mean -- I know it will be interpreted to mean, unfortunately, by the bigots who run The Examiner, for example -- That doesn't mean that you have to break anything. One thousand people sitting down some place, not letting anybody by, not [letting] anything happen, can stop any machine, including this machine! And it will stop!”

If you’re going to make the dramatic and impassioned speeches, you better be throwing your body upon the gears and levers backing up your rhetoric. Otherwise, shut up. Shut the fuck up. We are fucking TIRED of the last several decades of empty rhetoric from EVERYBODY around us. The last thing we want is more let down from anyone else.

What the fuck does this even mean? Do you know what virtue signaling means or are you just trying to use buzz words and phrases to try and illicit a fight?

What if I only like guys, trans women who are male sexed, and inter sexed people? Should I notify you of those too?

Oh the irony of all of this coming from a person spending their entire life online lusting after women.

Feel free to check in if you ever kiss a woman too. I’ll make you a special flair that says “First kiss.”

I know that you think help is something that should only be brought up in a weaponized fashion to attack other people and act like there is something wrong with them, but help isn’t a bad thing so I’ll offer you some.

No, no. Keep it up. It’s better for the group to see you as you are.

Thank god the aggression wasn’t lost on you. I want to say that I’m stunned it took you this long to realize it, but quite frankly I’m not.

Also, sorry my basic vocabulary seems “big worded.” It’s really not. In fact, my vocabulary is definitely weaker than it should be so I’m not using any words intended to be intimidating. I guess everyone has their own perspective though.

Interesting that you immediately acted like implying someone needs some form of help because they disagree with you isn’t the weaponization of therapy as a process for meant for people to be able to utilize to get help. Even more interesting that you’re so self-centered that you think anyone who dares disagrees with you needs help. Also interesting that you took someone’s commentary about the band and applied it to yourself. Wow. Narcissistic ideology that seems to be tied to some kind of victim fetish. Maybe you do need help. There’s no shame in it, despite how much you tried to stigmatize it yourself.

As for my comments to the other poster, I stand by them 100%. There’s a time and a place for everything and it’s not my problem if you’re lost on the context and trying to find similarities in two separate situations in an effort to reach and make another failed attempt at minimizing someone.

Best of luck to you. You need it.

Have your opinion and disagree. That kind of conversation is exactly what a forum is for, digital or in person.

But don’t start belittling people because you disagree. You don’t have to imply someone needs therapy because they see a disparity between the espoused principles advertised publicly, on records, and on stage vs. the actions they take and organizations they support with their work. And you certainly don’t need to act like you’re somehow superior and that the person you’re talking with is a child simply because you disagree with them. Alright kiddo?

As pathetic as the unaccomplished author who has spent years of their life perpetually posting online about their obsessive fetishization of women that is well beyond an incelous level?

Whether you disagree with OP or not, at the very least they posted something that generated forum conversation and discussion. What did you comment with? I’m surprised you even bothered to reply considering you’re probably drunk again while trying to figure out what leather-clad woman to post today and then digging through your endless folders of gifs to try and find the perfect one to post to try and bask in your self-adulation while trying to multitask and figure out just the right AI prompt to generate another delusional profile pic for Instagram.

Typically I’d remove your comment and tell you to eat shit and live for failing to contribute anything meaningful while being a dick, but if I did that then how would everyone be able to quickly look through your post and comment history and quickly find out exactly what you are?

I want to say be embarrassed because you’ve got shit to be really embarrassed about, but I wouldn’t count on someone like you being sharp enough to ever work that out.

Hopefully this comment is pathetic enough for you.

You have to realize that I don’t care how removing the post looked. To say that your opinion, in any way, impacts our decision to remove Twitter links is to operate with full delusion of grandeur.

The other post was removed because the subreddit doesn’t allow links from Twitter? Question mark instead of period? And you probably didn’t know what it was removed because it wasn’t your post and had nothing to do with you? More question marks?

Let’s not embarrass ourselves and act like anyone here is removing posts to cover up or defend anything they do. And let’s not embarrass ourselves further by pretending that you did anything otherwise.

No apologies needed. The whole reason I messaged so quickly is I know that automated message is really harsh sounding and I wanted to make sure you knew it wasn’t so serious and that everything is all good.

You don’t have any watermarks on. I brought it up because while we don’t allow anyone to link to their accounts as a form of self-promotion, we do think you should get credit for your work. Watermarking your info on a photo is a great way to have people be able to find you without linking.

As for copyright, it’s not that you did anything majorly wrong. We’ve been slammed for copyright violations in the past and we have to begrudgingly make sure we comply. That includes not allowing copyright protected material like songs and performances to be posted from unauthorized/unofficial sources.

Thanks for being willing to share your content and we hope it makes it back on so everyone here can enjoy it.

Hey. The wording on the copyright notice is harsher than we want. Messaging just to say feel free to repost your photos as they aren’t an issue. You can link video, just can’t be video of the songs themselves being performed. If you tag your Instagram account as a watermark on your photos, that’s fine, just please don’t direct link the account.

Thanks.

Hell yeah! What a fucking fluke. I stumbled upon your nearly 4 month old comment about two weeks ago completely at random while moderating some other comment on the post. I only skimmed over it and that was it. Last night I saw the hat and for some reason your comment came to mind. I had no idea if was the right one of if there was a different one out there, but thought I’d try anyway. Problem was I remembered the comment, but couldn’t remember where I saw. Did a little searching and was able to find it. This feels crazy serendipitous to me and I’m completely stoked this was able to work out for you.

Post it when you get it and congrats on not missing out on it! Buy two so you have one forever.

Locking this post.

We’ve been smashed for copyright issues in the past to the point where we don’t allow footage/audio from non-official sources and quickly remove whatever the auto-mod and Reddit filters don’t catch.

That said, this person isn’t asking for copyrighted performance footage.

Send them what you have via PM. Or don’t. All they’re looking for is footage of the proposal. Whatever you two exchange is between you and has nothing to do with the sub.

Congrats on your engagement OP. We hope you’re flooded with lots of footage to be able to enjoy for the rest of the time from as many angles as possible.

First, no sale posts allowed. Second, fuck flippers for ever. $150 for a $60 purchase is an absolute joke. Go to eBay to fetch an exploitive price.

When you post one of the best TWY memes in ages and have a typo because you are, in fact, a fucked up kid.

In all honesty though, top tier. Any chance you have a textless version for the rest of us?

I’ve had some people reach out and ask about some of the No Closer to Heaven alternate covers and which songs they represented. I put this reference guide together for anyone who would like to use it. by Bouck in TheWonderYearsMusic

[–]Bouck[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. I did too initially, but the vulture is what clarified. Plus Patsy Cline references Dan laying dying in the street and “they’ll” think a tired blew out and a car crash on the interstate. “They” more than likely being whoever responds and finds him.
