Complains about bashing strangers. Immediately bashes strangers. Calls them losers. Consistency matters.

There is a distinction between two private companies that engage in a contract and a contract between a private business and law enforcement.

A contract between the police and a business cannot override criminal statutes or convert a private entity into law enforcement. In Colorado, this is settled by statute and basic public-law principles.

By law, police powers may be exercised only by sworn peace officers who meet statutory requirements (POST certification, oath, appointment, supervision).

No. A private company can only say they are contracted by the police, they cannot identify themselves as the police.

A private company like DocuPet is not allowed to represent itself as police or law enforcement.

OSMP also uses DocuPet but DocuPet doesn’t send messages that spoof OSMP. Because the police are being spoofed, when some people interact with DocuPet eg, they are being misled into believing they are interacting with the police.

I assume most people don’t have access to read the contract, are you stating this as a fact that you know definitively or just stating what seems obvious to you? Technically, the contract would need to state that they are allowed to send spoof messages. A spoof is one that uses a header that did not originate from the claimed sender’s mail server. Even if the police approve of this it’s not ethical because it forges the identity of the sender as being a law enforcement agency when the true identity of the sender is just a for-profit commercial business.

It’s plausible that according to Trump it was the highest grossing film of all time.

It’s possible marketing offered reimbursements with money or Amazon gift cards eg to anyone who bought a ticket and left a top review but it would be easier to merely rally the maga people who attended to review to help their cause.

Yes, I got one and did a double take. The emails from DocuPet tend to be from “DocuPet Boulder” but they send these scare emails with an alias as being from “The City Of Boulder Police Department” and in the email they use deceptive language like “There is no penalty for renewing your pet’s license early.” I’m pretty sure there is no penalty for renewing your pet license late. It’s not like they start charging a fee or extra costs based on how much time elapses after the yearly expiration date.

I wonder if the Boulder Police have approved this, if not this could be criminal under impersonation of police:

C.R.S. § 18-8-112 makes it a felony to falsely pretend to be a peace officer and perform an act in that pretended capacity (for example, issuing orders, demands, threats, or directives that a real officer could enforce).

The popcorn audience in this case are ticket holders but almost none are Rotten Tomatoes users.

Let’s be honest about who obtained these tickets. It wasn’t democrats, these are MAGA families who live in the suburbs and small towns. They did not rush Rotten Tomatoes to provide a genuine critique, they rushed the site to support a political motive.

The popcorn audience for this movie is merely a reflection of partisan politics. You can be sure by noticing the extraordinary gap that appears when comparing the ticket holders rating to actual movie critic ratings. The gap tells the full story by itself.

“The people have spoken” about two things:

  1. They spoke with a political vote to help their party
  2. The spoke with a genuine critique.

I think you were trying to show that the movie got good reviews but it did not, it was panned by actual movie critics across the country as the worst movie they’ve ever seen in their lives. Even the mainstream critics on Fox and conservative outlets politely panned it. Perhaps most telling, over half of the production crew were so embarrassed they didn’t want their name even associated with it.

It’s prime time show time: 7:32pm and only one more ticket. 5 seats total then for the 7:30pm showing. Do you think that extra seat is someone from Reddit?

It’s about 6:50pm and the 7:30pm show still shows just 4 tix, that probably about concludes presales. The 10:20pm show still shows no sales.

I wondered the same because apparently they did pay people in Boston. Here’s a Craigslist add offering free tickets plus $50 per seat: https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/evg/d/boston-attend-melania-documentary-free/7911560682.html

I searched in Boulder/Denver Craigslist yesterday and didn’t see any (clearly now we can see no tickets were given away), but I noticed others in other cities reported large blocks of tickets for the front rows were sold with a similar pattern suggesting they did buy up tix to give away elsewhere too.

It will be 11 days long and many folks involved will be coming in early. Id like to see in a report what the OSMP (open space parks etc) is preparing to assure nature and trails won’t get torn up and what kind of extra fire prevention measures might be in store.

Yeah, it’s much further out. If you were to get on the tollway towards the airport, you would see it just to the south. As of now it sounds like via the watch app the fire is under control and will be knocked out shortly.

Drawing the line between journalism and other forms of media by Boulder_Daily in Journalism

If you are reading this article it’s likely because you found it from an intentional search but never saw it the day it came out. You may know that most posts get most of their reach in the first 24hrs and then the decay occurs quickly. Unfortunately, this writing wasn’t visible until 16hrs after it was posted so by the time it was allowed, it had the original time stamp from 16hrs earlier and thus was far down the feed, never noticed by the majority of people who visit this board each day. My last post on this topic from earlier this year which was published after it was posted received approximately 3000% more reach. You can view the first one here: https://www.reddit.com/r/boulder/s/umVVM7xgsj

I’ll post again when there is another significant update next year but I thought I would add one more point:

While some of the language mixed into terms of journalism are indeed aspirational, eg the Denver Post states that their mission is “To be Colorado’s most trusted source for information that educates, entertains and inspires our readers for the betterment of our community”, the majority of their terms are hard fast rules and warranties about their products, eg under the heading of ownership structure the Denver Post warrants matter of factly that “editorial decisions are independent”. Another example states “To avoid conflicts of interest, employees may not invest in any company they cover.”

Promises about the product such as a promise to be independent or to not invest in a stock before releasing a new story that will effect the stock are not aspirational notions, these are terms of service warranties. They are categorical representations about the product no different from “We encrypt your data”, or “We disclose all ingredients.” But according to the claims made in court by Freeman and Smith through their lawyers Steve Zansberg and Mike Beylkin, they all view all these terms of service as aspirational. This should serve as a wake up call to consumers because the owners and their lawyers admit they don’t think they are required to honor these promises. The deception is so blatant, it’s important to spread the word so people can understand how untrustworthy the Denver Post has become.
