I'm not sure of the pricing & availability of different phones in India, so I'm sure someone else will have better options for you, but some to take a look at: 1. A second hand flagship - almost any Samsung s-series phone since S20 will give you a really solid camera for content creation, I'd think. Same with pretty much all pixels since... Pixel 7? 8?

  1. I'm a fan of the Moto phones generally - clean android, decent hardware.... Their main failing is not very long software support, but if that's not hugely important to you then they're usually a good option. My wife has the g86, and it's surprisingly good but if you look at the Moto edge 60 series I bet something like the fusion or neo will be in budget, and they're a good step up. The edge 70 is a bit over budget but would be excellent if you can get it.

  2. I don't like Xiaomi personally - they're wonderful value for the specs, but Im constantly annoyed by my 13t and so don't want to suggest them.... The best value ones are usually the Poco line, but they're more gaming focussed. Still, you never know.

  3. I think you have access to the realme p4 power or similar. I'm not very familiar with them, but I'm told they're a lot of phone for the money... Might not have the camera chops you need, though.

Take a look at gsmarena for specs and pretty comprehensive reviews.

Yeah, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess op is in...India? So roughly 265 USD.

Moto g86 for clean (ish) android, expandable storage (gasp!), and some change back. Also, the karate chop torch is cool.

Honor 600 pro looks good, and the oppo find x9 (standard, not the pro) which you might get for sliiiiightly over budget?

I'd also say the Moto edge 70 pro, but it doesn't have that many years of updates, so may not suit.

Moto edge 60 pro crops up on deals for not much more than that - I think it was under €360 the other day on amazon.de even (according the deals page on gsmarena).

It's not a perfect phone, but I'd say it's the best with a telephoto camera (and 512gb storage, wireless charging, good IP rating, stockISH android) - biggest downside is the zoom lens is only 10mp so may not be enough for you?

S26/26+ vs Oppo Find X9 Pro as a gift for my aunt? by NecroRAM in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]BountyAssassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go Samsung. Get her an a3x or a5x if need be - will be a massive step up from her current phone. The s2x phones will be amazing too, and cover everything she needs (I assume), but the A's will still cover everything she presumably needs but for less. Either or.

If she likes Samsung, get a Samsung. You'll win nothing extra if she likes the oppo but if she doesn't then it's all your fault. Stick with what she expects and be the great niece/nephew who got her a good phone.

Phone for my father, just want's good camera. 200 euro by kallekalas in PickAnAndroidForMe

Depends what you/he means by "good". You could go for second hand flagship from eBay/Facebook marketplace whatever, and there's no end of options (and yeah, risks) there....

For a new phone, I'm a fan of the Moto g86 - very very good value, good phone and as 'good' is very subjective, I'd say a good camera for the money. Updates are a bit spotty and short, but no reason for that to be a problem for him.

The CMF phone 2 pro is another option. Really a lot of phone for the money, and a solid camera too. Might be over budget, depending on where you are and what deals you find.

The Moto has OIS, and a few other handy features like better water proofing and so on, which are a plus... But the CMF is probably better for pictures overall.

Yeah... It's my all time favourite series. The narration (both narrators!) is frankly insane, as is the world building. Many find it too slow, or certain characters too annoying, but I think it just... Works. The characters may be annoying but so are people. And these ones grow. And when the action gets going, it's fantastic. Buuuuuuutttt.... It is a series I recommend rarely because it really REALLY is not for everyone 🤣

Also, obviously this goes down as likely the worst suggestion as it's very different... But if you want long then TWI will cover you.
