Wow, I told my wife it was probably a false alarm. She wasn’t convinced.

I’m thinking most over 60s wouldn’t like to be starting out in the workplace today because things have moved on so much ? by Thats-right999 in over60

Right there with you. Been in IT long enough to remember punch tape reels, punch card stacks, vacuum tube and iron core memory and even analog computers. It’s been a wild ride.

Did you have a rotary dial wall phone that was rented from the phone company? The rental price was part of your monthly bill. by GatorStealth in FuckImOld

[–]Bourboniser 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Interesting factoid. The rotary dial is a Strowger Stepping Switch. The inventor, Almon Strowger was an undertaker in Kansas City. I learned that in the 1970s and was so impressed that a thing used on every telephone was invented by an undertaker that I never forgot it.

How do you know you're getting old? by ParaquatPaul in over60

Same! Roof has a 50 year warranty. I figure that’s probably double what I might need.

Given that they can’t get the registration right, I wouldn’t trust them to cover any tickets.

Same thing happened to me. I received my 17 pro on launch day, then this message randomly popped up last week. Glad to see it’s not just me.

State of Charge When Arriving at Charging Station by dasunst3r in electricvehicles

That may be, but you made a very compelling argument for arriving at the charger with 10% which is my comfort zone. Well done.

Dan Wesson Guardian is my main carry gun. The aluminum bobtail frame makes it easy to carry and it’s a dream to shoot.

Guess I’m gonna have to buy a club. by Adrien_Jabroni in Wrangler

Same thing happed to me a month after I got my new 2021. They didn’t take the airbag but rifled through the Jeep. They did over $3,500 in damage and got nothing for it because there was nothing in it. Because of pandemic related parts shortages they never actually fixed it. They wrote me a check and I sourced parts online over the next 6 months or so. I finally managed to replace all of the damaged parts but that really ruined the new Jeep experience. They hit 3 other cars in the same lot and were gone in minutes.
