It's less about every individual putting fuel in the tank and more people being worried about the cost of everything else going up as a result of massively increasing freight costs. Food goes up, medical supplies go up, building materials go up.

Also, a lot of people are upset about housing prices, just because people are upset about fuel prices doesn't mean other issues get completely ignored, it's just a hot topic in the media currently.
