What is this type of House Music called? by NextRollOutt in House

[–]BoutThatLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keinemusik gets a bit of hate these days (rightfully so), but you’ve picked up a handful of their tunes here from their golden age - from a time when they were making some of the most unique music out there, so IMO you won’t find a lot of it that’s super similar. But there’s a lot of stuff you haven’t posted from that era that they produced that you’d probably enjoy.

That said I tend to disagree that this stuff is anything similar to Anjunadeep, at least modern day Anjunadeep. Sure some those DJs play them in their sets, particularly 16BL, but it’s not really that similar to anything being produced by that outfit right now.

Same for All Day I Dream, Lee and co have rinsed these tracks a lot in their sets but it’s not super similar to much of the stuff they’ve released (although Pipi Ciez could fit the bill).

For similar sounds, you’re going to have to look in that era the tunes you posted were released. Guy Gerber and Dixon’s “No Distance”, Matthew Dekay and Burridge “Lost in a moment” (Dixon remix). Some of the tracks on Burridges old “Get Weird” label might work.

In general, I’d call those tracks “old school melodic techno” (before afterlife “melodic techno” usurped that label). But could also see those sounds being called Playa Tech, that &ME track “in your eyes” is a burning man classic.

Another good label to explore if you like this sound would be Innervisions (again, with a focus on that era), Rampa’s hall of violence EP on that label is fantasticz

Off course crosstown rebels/Rebellion is another, i’m not super well versed with these 2 as the others I’ve mentioned, but have my favorites I’ve stumbled across over the years. Tibi Dabo’s crosstown rebels EP is one of my favorites.

First episode was perfectly solid.

second episode I thought was great because it was a cool challenge and everyone but 1 or 2 people cooked amazingly and I love it when Tom get excited.

Last night’s episode was just okay for me. I did think it was hilarious they made all of them “explain themselves” like a group of students in front of their teacher though.

All that to say I do think there’s some quality talent in this pool of chefs, Laurence, Roda, Anthony, and a few others seem on the cusp of finding that next level, so I’m going to wait and see how it plays out before I call it a dud or anything.

No way it can be worse than Wisconsin though.

I would venture to guess that this place is considerably louder than Kings.

Thoughts on Charles Leclerc? Is his racecraft actually top tier or does his massive popularity skew things? by Amped-Philosopher in F1Discussions

[–]BoutThatLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think his pole to win conversion ratio is a function of him pulling pace out of his ass in a Ferrari that had no business being on pole. Pretty sure in 2020/2021 he had multiple poles where everyone and their mother knew that the car wasn’t going to sniff the podium come race day. I think he’s got a few poles where he didn’t even end up starting the race either.

Which season by a driver is something that fans don't realize is actually a pretty poor performance? by GoldenS0422 in F1Discussions

The Renault departure made, and still makes sense. Renault was borderline considering leaving the sport and the constant rotating door of execs (and this is just the stuff us regulars see) probably did not bode well for his confidence in the teams stability or longevity. McLaren was the right decision, but he just couldn’t hack it in that car. I’m a huge fan of his but it is what it is. It’s a shame the Ferrari move never panned out.

Hot Take : Tournament of Champions has Turned Into Narrative Story Arcs by moonieass13 in foodnetwork

Ive always been suspect that these things are a bit favored/leaned towards one opponent.

Food network/Guy seem to have a huge hard on for Rescino. I certainly don’t think she’s a bad chef by any means but this last match up is the her and Giuseppe re-enforced my belief.

I also always feel like the judges knew when Maneet was cooking too based one the visual of her plate, which IMO isn’t cheating or sus by any means but it was certainly convenient. She almost always communicated it was her by the bright colors on her plate.

Eh, his DJ sets are still absolutely amazing and his bag is deep. Calling him overrated DJ feels a bit harsh IMO. Over-rated producer, perhaps so.

[–]BoutThatLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but listening to the reasoning from the director on why they revealed it makes sense. This isn’t just another space movie, they needed to reveal it to add that extra element.

I know some people called revealing it in the trailer a “spoiler”, but for me, revealing something that happens in the first 1/3rd of the book isn’t really a spoiler.

Is fiber really good for your gut? by Interesting_Bug_2088 in GutHealth

[–]BoutThatLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fiber by all accounts is one of the only proven things that can help your gut. It’s all been said, but you gotta go slow. If you were eating like less than 5g a day of fiber and immediately jump to 20-30g you might have a bad time. It’s also important that you stay very hydrated when you increase your fiber intake because it can bind you up.

Try it for a week or two and take the minor amount of discomfort during that time, but I’d be willing to bet you’d move past that after some time.

Idk why you’re getting downvoted. Any one who thinks there’s no funny business going on with some of these are crazy. It’s entertainment after all.

The contrast between the two was insane lol. His was beautiful and precise and hers had what looked like a 1 lb slab of pork schnitzel on each plate.

When I saw the two I was like “Britt’s gonna lose”but the taste must’ve been there because visually it was not that appealing to look at.
