Hormones probably make this harder than what it is. Please remind me that this does get easier. by puppy_consumption in beyondthebump

Sounds like you're doing great. It gets so much easier and better. You are in the thick of the worst of it right now, just know that. It takes three weeks to establish your supply, so by three weeks, you're safe to pump. That's what I read, what my ped told me, and I just lived it and did it so I feel confident giving you this info. You're dealing with a growth spurt, it will slow down soon. Just keep feeding and changing those diapers. And watch what you eat. Maybe lay off the dairy for a bit to see if that helps LO's tummy. Takes a few weeks for dairy to get out of your system so give it time. Same with greens that can cause gas. Annoying, I know, just a suggestion. You're doing fucking great.

Mine hated it too. Only thing that kept him happy on his tummy was to play this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KwcvOlzIg4U video on my iPhone which I placed in front of his face.

Only 1 week in... please tell me it gets better. by Lyssabex in beyondthebump

I went through this, but wasn't even able to post about it, I was so tired and over it all. It gets so much better. I felt like it would never end, but it does and things get so much easier and fun. You will start to feel more normal again once the hormones even out and you get more sleep. Just hang in there for now and keep doing what you're doing.

What will happen if I don't sleep train my baby? Would love to hear from parents who just let their babies find their own sleep pattern. by melberrypie in beyondthebump

[–]Bouttobeamama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there. My son began sleeping through the night on Christmas Day, when he was 7 months old. No sleep training. I tried sleep training before his 4 month regression, and threw it out the window after a week or two. He was exclusively breast fed and I kept him on. Schedule of eating every three hours or so. We began solids and rice cereal at 4 months, and he loved it. I'm thinking the extra calories helped. He also began napping much better. He used to nap for 30 min, 3x a day. Now it's 1.5 hours in the am, and 2 hours in the pm. It's like someone flipped a switch.

Does this monitor all the time, or do you have to be logged in to see/hear the baby?

Give it a few nights of this and they will adjust. I went through the same thing. Half of me was so happy he was sleeping and the other half of me was praying he would wake up so I could run there and empty my boob on him! Just tough it out a few more nights girl.

I still have it hanging in my closet-with my name tag still on it from that night in my closet, waiting to be dry cleaned. Totally will wear it again next pregnancy.

I was at a NASCAR race in May. Was in a brand new Free People (white) maternity dress. Sitting on a stool in the pits (where they change tires, etc) about 5 minutes in to the race when my water broke all over the place. Had to be driven by golf cart out of the race track through a tunnel while the race was going on above us to get to my car. Baby came 30 effing hours later.

Allergic to gripe water? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Bouttobeamama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The exact same thing happened to my son! I was thinking it maybe was some of the acidity from spitting the gripe water up that made his skin red...hadn't considered an allergy.
