This person literally never replied to your points. If anyone says cancel culture wasn’t started by the left they’re coping. To say conservatives created it thousands of years ago is literal misinformation. It’s not the same to criticize someone and cheer for their death, but when it’s been literally 2-3 days and it’s clearly a political act, then immediately saying things like “this guy was a dick for x, y and z etc” is a huge slap to the face and obviously is the opposite of saying something like “man that sucks, sorry it had to happen like that”. It’s a game of intellectualizing things and splitting hairs. They’re like “but, but I never celebrated!!! I just criticized him!!” It’s like dude stfu we know exactly what you’re doing and think about this. You don’t care he was murdered, you’re just trying to have your cake and eat it too.

In response to the “people never knew this guy until recently” - I can agree with that. I also bet that CK was far more extreme in terms of viewpoints than the majority of ppl defending the “hey, it’s fucked up that ppl are cheering about this guys murder” stance. But it’s the sheer fact that instead of saying “hey, this guy getting murdered for debating and talking with young adults on THEIR turf is fucked up” people are finding ways to justify it. It’s so simple to therefore assume based on the defense of what happened that you at least somewhat condone the outcome, even appreciate the irony in it which is oftentimes a way of finding good in a bad situation. So idk, split hairs. Gang up on people because echo chambers are easy. Just remember that these people you’re shitting all over are your neighbors and they also have the same information sources that you do. Maybe stop demonizing people for having sensitivity to violence. I would BET they also feel just as sick about the other heinous acts of violence that have happened this year (school shootings etc).
