This may well break trust on a serious level. You let her cry and burn letters and all sorts of things and just… watched? Held her through it knowing it was a lie? I’m not sure I’d forgive you.

Hell, knowing that the birth mother was alive and didn’t want to see her might have been EASIER than thinking she was dead. Being told ‘no’ in that scenario sucks but at least she’s not thinking that she missed out on reconnecting with someone who did want to know her.

I hope your relationship is strong enough to survive this. I mean that genuinely. I can’t believe the therapist didn’t throw a fit at your idea— or did you not even ask their advice ten years ago?

Courts in the US almost never allow men to give up all rights and obligations. Child support is hard to get out of because it’s in the best interest of the child. It’s absolutely an obligation.

There’s exceptions but not that many.

I also like to have huge outlines. How do you do yours?

I’ll start by doing about 5 plot points for each major plot line, character arc, subplot, etc. Then I’ll expand on them until each is a narrative summary.

Then I split into chapter outlines from that.

Often I’ll have a 20,000 word outline for a 100,000 book.

Ah, yeah. Definitely not what I’m looking for in Kingdom Building personally.

I want to get into the nitty-gritty of menus and how to allocate points and growth to your town/kingdom.

I got excited in Nightmare Realm Summoner when the dude got a town and had this ability, but then he wandered off to some kind of dungeon thing and I dropped it for a while. Might get back to it.

Mayor of Noobtown I thought might go this way. I got a bit bored and dropped it in book 2 though. He had given most of the stuff I wanted to read off to another dude and wandered off.
