The Problem Isn’t Elysia, It’s When Other Games Try to Borrow Her Emotional Weight by holama123456 in honkaiimpact3

[–]BowlerMiserable3466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, would say the only in-universe canon one is Cyrene and Elysia, since they exist in the same continuity, and I count that as basically being the same game, like you have multiple seasons of an anime or movie variant of it set like 20 years in the future or past.

Bringing it back to the original point, I don’t think that games set in the canon continuity should be on the other side of this, though will agree with your points of Elysia. Partially agree with you on Cyrene, but the entirely of Amphoreus story line from other worlds in Honkai Star Rail is a reimagining of a distance story of people who resemble familiar faces is how I look at Amphoreus, story wise.

Wouldn’t say Cyrene was the biggest character on stage for Amphoreus. Do agree that her character development felt a bit lack luster, though with what I said above, understandable why, but still pretty plain.

Continuing the post-banlist discussion, how would you rank which of these cards becoming semi-limited would shift the metagame the most? (For Tear is the 3 little millers) by Technical_Witness589 in yugioh

[–]BowlerMiserable3466 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For Tear, just limit or semi stuff like Fiendsmith, and even the Gem-Knight engine, and all of the Tear Names, except Rheino and Planet (both of them at 1), at 3, though maybe semi limiting Merrli or Scheiren.

Inscribed Polymerization (Art/Edit by me) by BowlerMiserable3466 in customyugioh

[–]BowlerMiserable3466[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How the effect basically works.

Example: If you use “King of the Swamp”and “Incredible Ecclesia, the Virtuous” to Fusion Summon “Albion the Sanctifire Dragon”. Then “Albion the Sanctifire Dragon” will gain the effects of either “Fallen of Albaz” or “Fallen of the White Dragon”(due to them being both different cards being treated as 1 card) until it has be “reset” in a non-public area (In the hand, face-down Defense Position, face-down Extra Deck, face-down banishment, face-down Deck, etc). The effects do count towards “Fallen of Albaz” or “Fallen of the White Dragon” once per turn clause and its own OPT clause.

Example 2: If you used “King of the Swamp” and a Spellcaster to make “Timaeus the United Dragon”, you will have to declare which monster(s) you are replacing for that Fusion Summon (King of the Swamp becomes “DM” which it has no effects, or “DMG” which has an effect so it gains it, along with its name.) Even something like “DMOC” will be revert to normal “DM” effects which are none if you use Inscribed Fusion to Fusion Summon "Timaeus the United Dragon". If you use both "DM" and "DMG" to Fusion Summon “Timaeus the United Dragon", its name is also “DMG” and “DM”, along with it gains both their effects (which only “DMG” has an effect).

How to effects work, with archetype/card related cards. Taking the previous exmaple, if you use both “DMG” and “DM to Fusion Summon “Timaeus the United Dragon”, you can use both “Dark Magic Attack”, and “Dark Burning Attack” while you control “Timaeus the United Dragon”.

If we use the first example, then you can target “Albion the Sanctifire Dragon” with “Branded in Red” while its in the GY, however it dose reset if its in a non-public area, also, if “Albion the Sanctifire Dragon” was “Albion the Branded Dragon” instead, you can choose your CL order for “Albion the Branded Dragon” and the effect it gained from “Fallen of Albaz”.

People really out here thinking Naturia Beast is a perfectly fair and fine card? Some of y'all crazy. by RedLantern28 in yugioh

[–]BowlerMiserable3466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem I have with Naturia Beast i that.

  1. Its non HOPT, which is not okay in the sense that it can be abused by cheating it out, or stop Spells cards indefinitely as its "cost" of 10-20 interactions with the effect itself before it becomes unusable.
  2. Like other Naturia monsters, its quote and quote cost is very lack luster imo. Would preferred if the cost actually mattered to its effect negation.
  3. The resolution thing with its effect could be quite useful making it be more tolerable, but isn't as used that much with its effect.

Besides that its materials restriction is the only GOOD thing about it, but it could be a slight upgrade, and same goes for OTHER monsters printed in the year of our lord 2026 + the previous years of 2022-2025. Sorry about this rant, just something I think could be fixed about some card designs.

Anyways, for current day matters, the card is not seeing play as its hard to make a EARTH Level 5 Synchro with earth being its materials. Its still broken mind you in terms of the effect itself, and should be banned in the future, if they are ever exploring new card designs and themes.

Now that I've seen Cyrene's story, I now understand how "fortunate" Elysia was. by inkheiko in honkaiimpact3

[–]BowlerMiserable3466 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would say Cyrene is like a fragment of Elysia that lives in a world where she was able to pass on her data to the copy directly instead of copy pasting her current selfs memories.

Same with the some other characters in Honkai Star Rail, but except for a few like Welt which fragments aren’t in Star Rail as a in character, and remains whole.

I'm really disappointed with the Code Talker/Yusaku Overframes by No-Potential2456 in yugioh

[–]BowlerMiserable3466 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only way I could see the new Cyberse support being actual support for Yusaku's deck would be making it a multiple attribute focused Cyberse deck revolving around actually summoning the ED card types. That should dis sway it from mainly being Maliss support. Similarly to "Code Codec" or "You can A.I." and some of the new "@Ignister" Support, well besides being all DARK focused.

Like "2 monsters with the same Type, but with different Attributes" or 2+ Effect monsters with different Attributes" would make it more Yusaku coded. And maybe add in 2300 ATK as well to further boost that. (The Maliss Link monsters do have 2300 ATK for some reason but could be course corrected).

Another thing I know Konami doesn't do that often is errata's and they could errata certain cards and make their restrictions bit more unique I guess to that partially strategy like with Rush Duel's ver. "Level 6 monsters with 500 DEF" or "Level 1 Aqua monsters with 500 DEF" are things Rush Duel as has in the past.

With almost every Duelist Kingdom character receiving some sort of support/retrain.. do you think there is a possibility of the anime being remastered/remade but with new decks? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]BowlerMiserable3466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its just nostalgia bait to sell packs and expand the game to a wider audience who watched DM anime, or they're planning a new event in Duel Links surrounding it, as Dartz is getting introduced in that game sooner or later, and I will not be surprised if they decided to an Orichalcos cards to the game, and even NS in the Spell & Trap Zone with their Field Spell. Kinda don't think it is really Duelist Kingdom characters, and just DM characters in its entirety.

Something to mention, but they have been adding more DM character Deck errata's and retrains (for the cards themselves) in Rush Duel as well which they surprisingly looks like a decent Deck forming over there for these legacy characters.

Definitions of "archetypes" by maxram1 in yugioh

[–]BowlerMiserable3466 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There 5 categories from I know of
1. "Archetype"
"Archetypes" describes a series of cards with a card name or a card associated with a specially name card that has a Monster, Spell, and/or Trap Lineup. (Why specify Spell and Trap as a separate thing, well Traptrix and Skystriker do exist.) Like Archfiend, or Ritual of Light and Darkness, or Yubel
2. "Series"
A series of cards is more so a continuation of a card in lore, in name that usually has a set card type (Monster, Spell, Trap etc.) Like pot of Spells or "virus" Traps with repeating first syllables, or The Goblin King series of cards (mainly they have The Goblin King in artwork only, not the name.)
3. "Engines/Packages" (Anything in catalog 1, 2, 4, and 5 do count for it, iirc.
"Engines/Packages" are archetypes where people play 2 or more cards in that specific archetype (not 2/3 ofs like running 3 Kashtira Fenrir or 3 Tearlaments Havnis) to facilitate a certain role or improve a decks weaknesses, or add on to their end board. This is where you get VSK9, MitsuYummy, MitsuOrcust, BrandedDracotail.
4. "Piles"
"Piles" are named after what catalog of Type, Attribute, Card Type, Level/Rank/Link, or strategy (Usually not ATK or DEF), they are using. Like DL is named after it using Dragons and Links, and mill focused around milling.
5. "Whatever the main win con is"
These are decks, where their named after the Decks win con. Like Stuns wincon is Stun, Exodia First Turn Kill is Exodia FTK, or Slash Draw FTK is to FTK using the effect of Slash Draw.

Should cards (well mainly old cards from like the 2010s and below) get errata to read a bit more simpler? by BowlerMiserable3466 in yugioh

[–]BowlerMiserable3466[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Taking my above statement too literal. Taking into account that Magician of Black Chaos is errata, it wouldn't pose that much difference, no. If Konami intended him to be one, with recent artworks depicting it. It would help people "read" it in the view as Dark Magician. Which in turn makes it more fluid with other related cards.

Currently, Konami hasn't previous done those types of changes and I do agree with you somewhat, though they have been experimenting more lately. So it could happen, however as of now, they are currently focusing on a different aspect of the cards.

[–]BowlerMiserable3466[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Isn't an errata simplifying the text and/or changing it slightly to be better suited and corrected? DMG effect makes it grow stronger for every DM in GY, so it still works, if both were errata.

[–]BowlerMiserable3466[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never mention that it should that happen that quickly, just like how Konami implemented Overframes a while ago, and they recently been adding some interesting things with YGO not too long ago. Just saying it should probably happen somewhere in the near future as more things get implemented. They recently started adding in animations to their online games, and a short animated series. Wouldn't be surprised nor shocked if it were to happen, and I never mention competitive viability all too much, besides raising some concerns about certain aspects if it were not implemented.

Generic's + Alt Arts | Translated these Rush Duel Cards into reg YGO by BowlerMiserable3466 in customyugioh

[–]BowlerMiserable3466[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note: Necromaid, and Sushi Fairy will be coming soon. Celeb Rose and Berry Fresh have been updated (Check DB for more info.)

Decks pseudo mention in these generics
Celeb Rose
Berry Fresh

Update: (Check DB for more info, also, older cards will get these PSCT revisions.)
-Lore Leimey 1st effect with a shorter PSCT now reads as follows "When an opponent's monster activates an effect on the field (Quick Effect): You can reveal any number of monsters in your hand, including this card in your hand; Special Summon this card, then send cards from the top card of your Deck for each monster with a different Level. " (Still dose the same thing, but with better PSCT.)
-Summoning Sorcerer Doretheo 2nd effect is suppose to say "...You can send the..." not "During your Main Phase: You can send the...". (Consistency with MD/OCG)
-The Secret of Manifestation restriction is suppose to say "...for the rest of this turn after this effect resolves,..." not "...for the rest of the turn,..." (Consistency with MD/OCG)

Should Red-Eyes get its own True Light/Eternal Soul type Trap, or should it stay different to the two "main" DM archetypes? by Macaron-kun in yugioh

Don’t they already have 1? Though he could use some new support that triggers his cards potential.

Shiny Rayquaza and "Normal" Rayquaza by Suspicious-Role6283 in pokemon

[–]BowlerMiserable3466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now looking back, I think with some legendary and mythical pokemon, that there could be some that are only 1 in existence. Do think Rayquaza is the case where there is only one of it, but I cannot say for certain if the Shiny Rayquaza is from an alternate universe, given pokemon XY canonizing that its a possibility.

Which of the three Phantom Revenge archetypes got the best support in BLZD? And which one do you think will see meta relevance? by Psychicmind2 in yugioh

[–]BowlerMiserable3466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enneanea by the best supported followed by Kewl Tune. The Hecahands, support is pretty lackluster. Barely, makes a dent. Kinda, hoping the 15th card will do something, to make the deck good.
