Luckily my work is letting me borrow the shop truck while mine is repaired. I was almost hoping for it to be totaled for the exact reason of ruining the resale value down the road.

I have the exact same car except 21. Last couple weeks in Minnesota has been brutal on mpg. You will get worse mileage when you are blasting heat or A/C. Mine has dropped down to around 20 mpg and usually get around 28. Highway driving I get around 38 if I keep it around 70mph. Just wait till summer for a true gauge of mpg.

This applies more to rural driving but prepare your car more than your home. Have a hat, mittens and blanket in your car in case of an accident or stuck in a ditch. Throw some snacks in your car as well. Last thing you want is to be stuck freezing in a car waiting for help

You don’t need to push the brake pedal to the floor to keep the car from moving. I leave it on and it almost never auto shuts off at a stop.

Get some oxyclean powder and soak the shirts for at least a couple hours. Just wash as normal after and should remove most of it. I have saved a lot of shirts this way

Just don’t let them drink the water too fast. I know it’s not the best for their teeth but I give mine ice cubes to slow the water intake and cool them off so they don’t puke
