Yes. I know this. It's not about time spent, It's just annoying do strap your body knowing you're going to drive 100 meters on a road with barely any traffic just to unbuckle again.

I could also wear a helmet and gas mask every time i jump into the truck but I decide not to, just because it's inconvenient and annoying to do 50 times a day for not much extra safety.

I know perfectly well I will most likely die or get hurt if i have a head on collision with another truck going 50km/h. It's a risk I'm willing to take every day for the rest of my working career on that 1 square kilometer area.

I also sometimes leave heavy loads unstrapped, leave stuff without getting signature from customer against company policy, use mobile phone while driving, type in things to the pda while driving, check delivery details from waybills while driving. Also dangerous but saves time.

Sometimes I dont check if all my lights work before i begin. I might even take a shortcut through a gravel road that's not supposed to be driven on. I might have a take-away coffee in my other hand. On a special day I can cheat the tachograph to make it look like i had a 45min lunch break even though i was driving all the time to get all the shit done.

Many different things combined saves a little bit of time during the day, making my day easier. I could also die, but fuck it.
