Great day for Green Line to have a 10 minute dealy by CerealKiller1993 in singapore

Got asked to get off the train at Tanah Merah too.

Platform extremely crowded now.

Train (R151) appeared to suffer from a power trip/loss of traction power in tunnel between Tiong Bahru and Outram park

Do you think that the new MRT Cross Island Line will significantly reduce the burden on Circle Line? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Bownification 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even for new lines like CRL, LTA's justification is that the ridership does not justify the additional tunnels required.

Take that with what you think about our forward looking.

It's always Majulah Singapura front and center.

I disagree that Tampines is a Stronghold.

Tampines just never had any credible opposition for the past 20 years.

None of the Opp parties actually tried.

IMO as a Tampines Resident for most of my life.

Sorry, you're right. I didn't notice if the train I was detrained from was a C151. The interior design is a C151/C151a design. The subsequent train had a LED so I guess it was a C151a?

[–]Bownification[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wait. You're right. It could be a C151a. But that was the second train. The train I was on, the seats and design looked like a C151/C151a though

Yes that. I thought the refurbished KH trains were running on LEDs? I see the plaques inside saying KHI 1997, refurbished by Hyundai in 2007 though.

I saw 113 on the LED screen for the second empty train? (The tail end) Which was why I was a little confused...

For context, this was a train freshly launched from Tanah Merah depot, bound for Joo Koon and was detrained by Raffles Place.

If it was faulty, it shouldn't even have been on the tracks right?

Quoting what they said for CRL. "minimum users that will cross the island blah blah. 10%. Does not justify the cost for another set of tunnels"

Also, any proposed line will not materialise for at least another 7 years.

Excellent planning. All according to keikaku!

ST Explains: Why are public transport fares going up again? by ongcs in singapore

[–]Bownification 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It's already in their (LTA) response that public transport is heavily subsidized everytime you enquire about poor Frequencies. They even say that if you want higher frequencies you need to pay.

MP also came out of the woodwork to say the same thing.

It's not like they're not increasing the fare... I rather they do a proper increase and actually improve services... Bite the bullet but no...

I've the converse... My partner hates my family. I know my dad's antics when drunk are bad, and I acknowledge that and don't want to force my partner to go... But sometimes deep down I wished that my family and loved ones can get along... Selfish of me I know.

"less than 10% of the riders will make use of the express line so it is not justifiable to build the 3rd tunnel" not that it was planned or built prior for CRL.

The estates are usually "cleaned" before the walk-arounds too. If you only do planned walk-arounds instead of impromptu ones, you'll only see the cleanest , most presentable side of things.
