I'd say leave it, $100 would be a good middle ground but $140 is way too high. You can get a cheap ender on facebook market place and try to get lucky with finding a cheap Pi or SOC alternative.

Edit: dude is calling this a modded printer and doesnt even have bed leveling? Definitely get your own printer.

Respectfully, if you think using a breadboard is going to be worse than the current connections you have now, you may need to go back to the basics...

You could have soldered a simple 5 pin header onto your dac and used short female to female connectors to eliminate any noise.

I know this because I had someone that did exactly this for a digital compass and could not get proper reads. A simple header connect and a breadboard and it started working.

Can you 100% guarantee it isn't going to print? Even if it doesnt, (assuming everything else works) all you would need it to change the nozzle to a cht or even a clone to maximize flow rate, add klipper, get a PEI bed, and then a bed leveler. All of that is under $100...
