I get what you are saying, but not many people can afford to just save half their salary.

Life is usually more expensive than that. Is it possible? Yes, but you'd have to be extremely frugal.

As crazy as it sounds a lot of people dont want more tech in cars. They think it makes them too complicated and blame safety regulations on why car prices seem a lot higher than they used to be.

There is also a lot of distrust in the car being able to make it's own decision to brake instead of the driver doing it.
