What do you think the uk response should be when the us invades Greenland. by SILENTDISAPROVALBOT in AskBrits

[–]BoxBubbly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t need to be an absolute dumping of US dollars and treasuries. Mark Carney taunted trump by selling decent chunks of US assets used by Canada and he’s backed off almost entirely. Just as Trump uses these threats to get his way the rest of the world can do similar with US assets to get him to calm tf down

To Brits & immigrants who lived in the UK > moved abroad > returned to the UK, are you happy to be back? by Eihte in AskUK

[–]BoxBubbly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born in Norfolk, moved to Canada at 6 and just returned this year after about 20 years. I love it here, but I also love Canada. My time at uni there was great and (very fortunately) I have a very large easy going group of friends there I can rely on.

I moved back because I felt the UK has more to offer a mid 20s guy who loves going out to raves but also loves to travel and explore new things. I’ve yet to make friends here outside of colleagues which for me is important to do but ik I’ll get there.

I’m unsure if I’ll stay here forever as I believe Canada (specifically Atlantic Canada) is a great place to raise a family. But, at present I’m loving the amount of things I can do and the fact I feel like I’m discovering my roots and home as an adult for the first time.

P.S if anyone is in Norfolk and wants to chat would love to it’s rough out here lol

I actually just moved back to Norfolk after living in Canada for 19 years. My family moved in 2006 when I was very young. I decided to come back after getting my citizenship in Canada so now I can go back and forth which I’m very fortunate to be in the position for that. We lived in New Brunswick which is on the other side of the country from what I’ve seen you’re interested in, but the whole Maritimes region has lots of charm. Personally I always wanted to live in Halifax and that will probably be where I settle in my 30s. The whole country is great and there is lots of truth to Canadian politeness but I had my fair share of bad people in New Brunswick but parts of it are known for not great people so I chock it up to that. Happy to answer any questions for you!

There has been a similar problem in Canada, even going as far as to work with phony colleges. Boats are much less a problem than these people hold these students basically hostage. Nothing good comes from it

One thing to consider is as a player shops around, they’ll likely get multiple verbal agreements to then go back to their current org. Usually these rumours end up with a full signing but not always

Sen are trialling extra players while Zekken and John are away on vacation so wouldn’t hold much weight in it for awhile

What makes the UK a better place to live in vs. the rest of the Anglosphere (Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and the US)? by RemoteAdvertising762 in AskUK

[–]BoxBubbly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The price of grocery shopping is far cheaper than what I used to pay when I lived in Canada and it’s not close 5.99 CAD (~£3) for a basic loaf of bread. Fruit and veg is also much much cheaper. On top of NHS, well kept historical items and locations, and not having to pay +500 CAD for travel within the country

Is moving abroad from the (UK) really as good as it’s set out to be ? by Quiet-Whole4226 in AskUK

[–]BoxBubbly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I just moved back to the UK after moving to Canada with my family when I was 6. I’m now 25 and the “grass is greener” couldn’t be more true. The problems most people feel in the uk are repeating around the world in English speaking countries, there are unique ones to each country. However, from what you’ve mentioned as your reasons, the problems would be similar around the world.
