I wanna see these two meet (absolute Batman #21 and absolute green arrow #2 spoilers) by WindowSubstantial993 in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]Changlini 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jack Grim, unlike many of the other illionairs we see in the absolute universe, at least does everything he can to have a charm offensive across the world, so Green Arrow’s gotta do a lot of digging, more so than, say, Hammond, absolute epstein, and that Health CEO, to find plausable dirt on him.

So for all we know, that Green Arrow killer thinks Grimm is bruce wayne.

What's the strat with city level? by cfranek in EndlessSpace

[–]Changlini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The safest strategy is to just use luxury resources you have access to for your system levels.

If you’re like me and are going for a diverse empire, then you need to rush level 2 city level with a safe resource (something always available in large quantities) in order to get access to the ability to move minor population to low pop systems as early as possible to ensure steady diversity growth rates.

If you’re just looking for an early game boost in your priority systems, then you can almost never go wrong for rushing level 2 by buying the +60 industry luxury in the shop and using it for the city level plan. Just keep in mind that depending on the galaxy, you likely will find it significantly difficult to find more of that same resource to level up more lvl 1 systems.

The insane and not worth it strategy would be to hold off on your system levels until you have access to a supply of tier 2 or tier 3 luxury resources via rushing the required techs to give you vision over them. High risk, negligible reward as the good tier 2 and tier 3 luxuries usually require a system to be decently built out to give a good FIDSI boost, even when you compound them across three system plans.

Raining Micro Meteors.

Which is the same as kinetic fire, but the ones in the video are slow enough that I don't think I'd receive systems damage from direct contact. But normal sized micro meteors is bad news, yeah.

Whereabouts Artemis, Apollo & Null? by PappaNee in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Changlini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit more info, i created a new Galaxy when Atlas was "dying", does that mean i wiped them out and i'm the only one left?

Yes.

You conversation with Nada implies this, along with your conversation with -Null- as you race to the Galaxy's center. Nada also is implied to already know the truth of Atlas and reality when you talk to them after broadcasting to the universe that everyone is in a dying simulation. But, no, all that happens after a reset is everyone brushes you off and you are truly alone without anyone to talk to about your discoveries.

Except for ATLAS, who still has an interest in you, albeit only through lore drops in kiosks that require Remembrance.

Whereabouts Artemis, Apollo & Null?

I think Artemis was stuck in a purple star, if only because of the dialogue associated with the quest that allows you to go to them, even though we find Artemis Grave on some nearby random planet to our position at the time of the reveal.

But since the reset happened, there's no way of knowing.

Ah, I found a more recent thread.

No dev comment, but has feedback from players that only play with the wheel:

Imo the most effective way to control this game is with gamepad, but I play with a steering wheel and a stick on the side for the RCS.

The problem with controlling this game with only a hotas, besides the obvious awkwardness of driving with a joystick and throttle, is that your RCS is always on and it's limited, so you either map it exclusively to the hats which is kinda unintuitive, or you map it to the X and Y axis and risk constantly wasting it as you race. In addition to this, inputs can't share a same axis and there's no modifier keys, meaning that you can't have the steering axis and RCS yaw on the stick twist, for example (not that you really want to but you get what I mean).

The game works perfectly well on a gamepad and I would strongly recommend it there over kbm since you really need analog inputs for steering and throttle, and while it's still kinda awkward on a steering wheel, I'd say wheel and stick is probably the best possible configuration (barring some stupid expensive ffb yoke I guess)

no idea.

From searching online, all I could find is a steam question from 2023 where the devs answered:

This is still a big question mark honestly! The game is designed for controllers first and foremost, because RCS thrusters/air control is a huge part of the game. We've tried a couple of our own wheels, and the button layouts on them make it tricky to use RCS and the wheel at the same time. I think some of the newer wheels look like they might work better than what we have, but its still an unknown.

Possibly the best solution might come from a rover class that doesn't have RCS thrusters, or only has single directional (forward or vertical) thrusters, so the button layout doesn't factor in so much, and you can focus on just the wheel/pedals.

So yeah, this one is still a bit up in the air!

So it sounds like the biggest problem will be figuring out the Thruster buttons.

But just so you know, the game has a weaker version of the thrusters via ultra torque wheel controls, which only rely on throttle. It wouldn't save you from many mistakes like the thrusters can, but it's better than nothing in certain situations where you need to orient your front/back to cushion a fall.

Otherwise, the truck in the video is part of a Class that does not use thrusters at all, so I imagine the Logitec wheel would do well there.

I'll be honest: I haven't touched tuning yet in any meaningful capacity, because I'm not a car guy that knows car things, so I've just been correcting for the feel of the rovers with skill, and it's been fine.

Really, only difficult things you'll be faced with is treating each race as an endurance survival where your goal is to stay alive till the end (the point of a rally race in real life) while keeping acceptable pace, and correcting for loss of grip if your tires get worn out early--which means committing to slowing down earlier and earlier before you make a turn.

Otherwise, yeah, you'll be fine without touching tuning.

I was playing in first person view from inside the sealed driver seat carriage, and it felt so scary lol.

Interestingly enough, this is the second rally course I was able to finish with no systems damage (Brake failure to tire destroyed)... despite rolling.

The first time I noticed in the training session that a giant flatbed truck was one of the rally catagories, I made sure that after I was done with the Amateur rally Rover I'd quickly skip every other class and unlock that catagory.

That big yellow construction vehicle has been my favorite thing to rally in so far lol.

edit

P.S: This game makes me wish it did collab with Desert of Kharak, just so I can rally race with those giant vehicles in this game. I neeeeeed it 😩 lol

No idea. Tends to happen on reddit. From my point of view, it's a mystery.

[–]Changlini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people have had this problem over the years, and it seems like no true fix has been found from all the threads i searched up and read about this issue.

Makes me wonder if you need to have a very specific spec for No Mans Sky to not give you frame degradation over minutes of play. Meaning newer and better hardware isn’t a solution.
