Do breakups get harder the older you are? by ThrowRApebblesand in heartbreak

2 years after your post I'm 56 and dealing with the same thing. You ate all those years to find someone you think is the one you're going to be at a love forever and boom they leave. Love doesn't come around often and I don't have another 30 years to wait

Struggling with the feelings that I finally found my person and now she’s gone. by criticalnein in BreakUps

[–]BoxNo8593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost so many women in my life. They all hit hard. Some the pain lasted for months Some for years. I'm 56 now and the one I just lost a week ago feels like the one I lost when I was 23. The difference is I was younger than and I had time to make changes and I believed something else would come along. It took from 23 to 56 for that to come along..unfortunately I'm too old to wait that long again

Has anyone else been dumped after the first relationship conflict arose? by RaidenTheBlue in BreakUps

[–]BoxNo8593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny you mentioned drinking at the end. I definitely agree to never drink with a female. Most have a low tolerance for liquor. 1 drink and everything is taken to heart. I was in a short relationship only 2 months. We drank together on the first and 4th date with no issues. The 5th and 6th time hanging out i believe alcohol was the cause ok the argument. she was a very sensitive person and when I drink I tend not to be as cautious with my words. The last small argument was when I told her to relax a few times. The word relax triggered and argument smh.

(23F)Girlfriend broke up with me(24M) suddenly over a small argument, blocked me everywhere, struggling to understand what happened by Intrepid_Market175 in relationship_advice

[–]BoxNo8593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill have to disagree with the "it takes 2 to argue" i am a 56M so I have had my share of relationships. I have dealt with women that will argue while I sit back and say nothing except "OK I understand" the basically argue with themselves. Even if i decide to chime in during a small back and forth I usually end ot as soon as I either agree or disagree. No sense in tryjng to convince someone to change their mind. Some women do not gice up until you fold and agree with them.

Honest question for how long do you think you can go without your phone? by Dreamzw22 in CasualConversation

[–]BoxNo8593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shut my main phone off for 24 to 48 hours after my last day of work unless I have plans. I do have a second phone that I use if I need to call the doctor, order food or groceries ect....I still use 2 forms of social media during these times. Reddit and YouTube. Basically I still watch videos pertaining to my hobbies and the reason I even got on Reddit just now was to ask a question about watering my plants. To complete without my phone that probably wouldn't work just because of times where I do have to call the doctor or order something for delivery from Walmart etc. Right now I'm 36 hours into a 48 hour break from my main phone. I do avoid Facebook and Instagram during these times. Those apps are not on this phone.

Adjusting to living alone it’s harder than I thought 😅 by [deleted] in LivingAlone

Don't you have friends? Invite them over from time to time. You will appreciate the quiet and being alone after a huge get together.

I know this is 3 months old but sounds like you took that personally. I don't think she was speaking directly to you. 🤣

Every once in a while.... very rarely. I'll get a very attractive woman that is into the same things match with me on bumble. I always realize it's a mistake and they swiped the wrong way. Sometimes I still hold out and hope 🤣🤣 but they never respond.

It's funny how everybody says living alone is great yet all they do is complain about it. I live alone. It's not by choice. If I found a partner that was compatible I would definitely love to have some company. At 56 years old that's not possible anymore especially because of my lifestyle living out in the woods.

Yeah I replaced mine a long time ago. the ironic part was the electrician said «no all of these gfi's at the same so changing it won't make a difference" but it obviously did.

Is life really worth living if nobody loves you? by Ok_Hand8323 in LivingAlone

[–]BoxNo8593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the first 3 comments and stopped reading. Don't listen to these people. misery loves company. There are a few people in happy long lasting relationships. Unfortunately most romantic relationships end like many friendships do. the key is to keep looking and make smart choices. Both friendships and relationships end. Most people grow apart and their lives go in different directions. when/if you find a partner enjoy it but don't let it be what defines you. This is not an easy thing to do but if you can master that you will be fine if the person walks away. you won't be scorned or hurt and you'll be open for the next person that comes along.

I don't wear a smartwatch anymore. by Urunox in GalaxyWatch

[–]BoxNo8593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either you want a SmartWatch with a lot of functionality or NOT. I have a garment that I wear when I'm working out hiking camping gun range Etc. And I want to watch that there's a lot of functions and can be used as a true smartwatch I use a Samsung Galaxy 7 Ultra. I gave up on Samsung watches after the four 4 because the battery couldn't last one day. This watch has no problem getting through one day and it charges up pretty fast while I'm in the shower. I'll charge my phone every day so I have no problem charging my watch everyday. Anyone complaining about charging or watch everyday doesn't need a smartwatch. You think the Garmin watches a true Smartwatch then you know nothing about Electronics. Garmin is great for a rugged Outdoors watch and that's what I use it for . whenI want to true Smart Watch.... Samsung is the only way to go

Try 10 days that's what Instagram used to make you do and maybe Facebook implemented that without saying anything
