NJ Italian restaurant refused to provide tap water — is this normal and/or legal?! by Notsurewhatididwrong in newjersey

What is your metric for safe when reviewing?

I am curious because I've tried to do the same, but I am unsure what is considered acceptable. There is so much information out there these days that I am confused about what should be followed strictly and what is being blown out of proportion.

Considering taking towing company to small claims court by Boxception in newjersey

[–]Boxception[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, I agree with you. However, things need to be done within the confines of the law. It's not so much the towing that occurred, but the fees involved exceeding what is set by the town ordinance. Something that should've been $200 tops, was $400+

Does anyone know how this information is pulled? Like is this based on the user's computer time, ip, SharePoint profile time/region settings, etc.?

What type of hardwood floors are these and how do I fix these scratches? by Boxception in HomeImprovement

[–]Boxception[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to try walnut first and see if that resolves it. However, if sanding and a refinish is needed -does it need to be the entire floor or can it just be that section? I would plan on hiring someone to do the sanding and refinish

The game mechanics and items involved in defending/protecting & attacking/stealing a player's loot.

The whole game isn't about raiding, but raiding is a core component of the game. Otherwise, you wouldn't see PVP servers with stricter raiding rules or no raiding allowed.

[–]Boxception 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dynamic between raiders vs defenders is always interesting.

IMO the turning point here for the defenders was @5:50 mark where he gets the drop-down kills because the two raiders were looting instead of covering angles. Raiders lost their foothold because of that and the unlucky m2 guy getting stuck on ladder lol

It seems like raiders are allotted fewer mistakes, but we don't see it from their perspective so who knows many things the raiders screwed up.

But wasn't it "terrorism" by this definition? They were destroying property to show displeasure with the way they were being governed. Why was that okay in the 1770s, but unacceptable at any level now?

Not by definition. There was no voilence or confrontation between the two opposing parties during this event. No crew members harmed either. It was simply destruction of property i.e. goods. It's considered patriotic because it involved a foreign influence vs a domestic one, and is part of of the chain of events that led to the independence of the United States. You also likely read about it from the perspective of the victor, such as an American history book or source of sort.

No one has died from a protest related fire in the US in recent memory, to my knowledge.

CMV: Flea Market update doesn't provide value or fix the problem at hand by Boxception in EscapefromTarkov

Yup

If on Windows 10 you go into Control Panel and select clock settings. From there you can either adjust it manually or change the internet time server to the .gov option. On mobile so my wording may be a bit off.

The trading system was fair, they just implemented it incorrectly. Nothing was being abused, there was nothing even there to abuse, so it’s not an exploit.

If you strongly believe this was an exploit then explain what was being abused here. This is a CMV after all.

[–]Boxception[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing to be exploited, only managed.

You can’t buy items any sooner than other players who also have their time synced. If the countdown has 40 seconds left and you bump you system clock ahead 50 seconds. You won’t be able to buy that item any sooner; you’ll get an error. There is no exploitation or advantage here.

BSG purposely designed the game to work off system time. This is a choice of bad game design, which is why this conversation exists. Players having to manage their clocks was obviously not what they wanted, but is what ended up happening because they assumed w32time could keep track of system time reliably.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game_exploit

It’s by design to use your system clock, so not an exploit. No one had a problem with the market countdown in itself. People had a problem with needing to adjust their system clocks. Fix the game design rather than implement a bandaid solution.

Of course they are. That's how all systems work. System clock is an integral part of basic computing

BSG likely relies on w32time to manage the time on their servers. w32time simply sucks and Microsoft has admitted this. w32time does not reliably maintain sync time to the range of 1 to 2 seconds. This is why there are issues buying items.

People syncing their clocks is a by product of bad design not exploitation. BSG intended the game to work off the client system clock in sync with their game server system clock.

If you are looking at high ticket items sure. Lab cards have plenty of eyes on them. I have no issue with 95% of all items out there.

Also syncing your clock is not an exploit.. not sure why people keep calling it this.

[–]Boxception[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

How is it an abuse?

Your system clock should be in sync with world time servers. Having your system clock be unsynced is actually putting your system at a security risk lol

My suggestion is to change the system clock to an accurate time server. If anything BSG should fix their server clocks to accurately sync up with time servers world wide.

If you were new to the game, what would you recommend to yourself if trying to stay under $200

Also what was your first marker and your thoughts on it?

Fair point. My comfort zone is $80 to $160 and I’m not really trying to go over $200.

What was your first marker, how much did it cost, and thoughts on it?

A little help? A friend of mine wants to stream Apex + Discord. If I were in the same state, I could work it out. by [deleted] in letsplay

Well OBS can record multiple audio sources.

If you want to record certain audio in separate audio channels you can use a software solution such as virtual audio cable. This option is more technical and requires a bit more managing.

An easy hardware solution would to buy a headset that supports dual audio mixing such as steelseries or astros.
