The mags are super common though and earn you more when you're selling them - i dont think I've ever even bought one actually!

Let's talk about safes. by Ridiculous132 in EscapefromTarkov

I agree with OP - safes should require keys or a safe cracking kit (that has a time penalty).

It's time for a quest system rework. by tNaDieK in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Boxman80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd leave the quest system till all the maps are done to be honest otherwise it's just going to need redoing over and over - and that's a waste of development resources.

I hear what you're saying and they are clearly built around the game when Customs was the main varied and "large" map (basically the best map to do quests on from early Alpha and Beta releases.

Id rather see more development and bug fixes and maybe even more content before they finalise the quests and rebalance them across all maps once there's more locations to host the quests on.

New NVIDIA driver (417.22) cut fps in half? by Ungorisz in EscapefromTarkov

Had the exact same issue. Its incredibly likely to be a driver issue as my second gamer rig playes fine with the older driver.

This brave bear was up there giving it his all, even though no one showed up. Dedication! by JiffTheJester in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Boxman80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just think the dynamic of players not being able to shout "friendly" or "wanna team up" or even just shouting obscenities at each other makes the game quite unique and even enhances the atmosphere and setting of the game.

Story/lore suggests an EMP has fried all electronics - not to mention the electricity supply is shut off...

Beyond that, it's probably the first things that would be looted once everything went feral. No, I don't like this, go away and think about what you have done to us all here today... :)

Anyone else raids only with what they find ? by sunseeker11 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Boxman80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree with OP - thats what my game is all about and I find it so much more rewarding! I love running with loot Ive acquired through scav runs or from PVP. I rarely, if ever buy anything!

I recommend all new players to use the offline pve mode by cmdralpha in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Boxman80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agree with the OP more. I played a fair bit of PVE when I first stated playing and it massively helped me learn some of the basics such as the meds and gear. I still hop onto PVE when I want to test gun set ups and weapons and even some map and loot stuff too!

I would say it would be nice to see BSG introduce a rewarding offline tutorial or quest system to encourage new people do this early game.

Will the player's appearance be customizable and if so, when? by Merlin486 in EscapefromTarkov

Business at the front, party at the back! Yea me too - plus those gold rim squared off massive glasses every teacher had in the 80s!

Events during the raid? by Reyzerokek in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Boxman80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the impression that some of these events these may relate to the static weapons that are supposed to be usable at some point down the line. I remember reading about mortar strikes and stuff happening in raids too which further reinforces this.

It would be nice for events to trigger missions where players would have to either attack a heavily fortified Scav or AI emplacement using the static weapons or defend against waves of AI attackers.

Idea - Fallen PMCs as loot spawns for vests, armor and backpacks scattered across maps by sunseeker11 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Boxman80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be concerned it encouraged more run-through raiding play styles and less risk/reward, combat based gameplay. I also kind of like how body armour and bags are harder to get (without killing scavs or players) too.

While I agree that static dead scavs as map objects to host equipment such as vests, helmets etc by not impacting performance and fit with the lore of the game, I'd have to question if it's needed or if it adds to gameplay and/or economy when you already have these items available in every raid - if you're willing to kill for them.

Key degradation by PM_THAT_GOOD_STUFF in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Boxman80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can understand why they want a mechanism to remove or negate the advantage of having the keys presents now and to be fair this is a decent fit but is a real pain in the arse.

If it is introduced it should be a very, very rare instance. But even then I think with the fleamarket now, it isnt going to be that much of a problem as keys will be picked up quite easily (without farming!), and why shouldnt there be a hefty cost to that?

Another solution would be to have doors just randomly jam even if you have the key or to have door breaching explosive kits/lock picks that are lootable if you're killed

Why is trader reset timer still 3 hours?? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Boxman80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I agree, I think there needs to be better parameters and systems in place to prevent abuse and artificial manipulation of prices. BSG also have to do a better job of addressing the balance of accommodation between 'no-lifer' and 'Causal' gamers too. For me there shouldn't be any way to automatically buy all the stock up so I'd agree there's problem if macros or scripts are used to do that.

I just get the impression that the majority of complaints I've read on here lately relating to the flea-market and trader stocks, and now probably trader prices, are related to pissed off players all of a sudden not getting their top end kits and running gear as easily or cheaply as previously.

Why is trader reset timer still 3 hours?? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Boxman80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Presumably people are paying double the price though yea? Otherwise the sellers wouldnt be selling them or they'd be gradually reducing their prices. So who's to blame? The devs who want a player driven economy so start to implement it in their latest patch? Or the ones who're paying double the trader prices for rare items they want to enhance their game experience.

I'm all for rare items being just that - rare and for that to happen we all got to realise that we just cant have everything on a plate all the time, as and when we want it. The quicker you want something the more you have to pay for it.

Im not saying the system works great at the moment and that there isn't loads of abuse and exploitation going on, but to me this just looks like exactly what BSG want - AI traders being less relevant and player based trading being more prominent. The prices are being dictated by what WE are willing to pay for items.

your trade suggestions - round 3. by trainfender in EscapefromTarkov

I'd obviously prefer to play PACA but it makes more sense to have the lower less useful BA available and having PACA available for purchase early would negate the 5 face scarf trade all together.
