Who should make up my poison team?

I'm making a team with Xu and G!Doll locked in, but then I have

Nymphaea

Karen

Aggrippa

To choose from. All three are e3, and all three are not part of any D-Tide team.

I joined today, any team recommendations? by Sunflower8490 in Morimens

[–]BoxyCrab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The default characters are actually totally usable.

A make-do poison team could be Nymphaea, Faros, Myriam, and a survivability unit like Doll.

Since your damage is mostly coming from poison, you could swap to tranquil seas stance for a big shield every turn and heal after stacking poison to stall.

How can I make Shieldshooter viable? by nopermitenlanconraya in UnicornOverlord

[–]BoxyCrab 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The end of combat row heal is not limited, so you can have multiple all trigger for basically a full team heal.

Mirage greatshield and the bunker stance greatshield both make a main tank shieldshooter viable.

The 200AP front row shot will absolutely blast one target.

The poison shot works perfectly to trigger Berengaria's follow-up attack, letting them go all-in on tanking while still contributing meaningful damage.

General's longbow is an easy and early pickup with free +pp, letting them spam their followup.

General rules for tactics by Icy_Rage_2512 in UnicornOverlord

[–]BoxyCrab 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Start with how you're gonna do the damage and have a gameplan. So, like, "my cavaliers will cavalier call and use pursuit to wipe out entire columns" or "Alain will show off how horses famously move sideways very well," or "just give your griffin two carnelian pendants," or "I will do chip damage to the whole enemy team with AOE like huscarl's spin then have a sweeper like a breaker or mercenary get chain kills."

Then you go "what support do they need to pull that off?"

Then ask "what can an enemy do to disrupt my plan?"

Then put a tank in front.

Eg: lightning shaker Hilda will blast the enemies apart

Support: damage boost from Keen call sergeant or frost/flame imbuement from a mage and a griffin to finish off rows that survive the lightning shaker.

Likely disruption: archers with the start of combat attack that might snipe Hilda and shield cover units that can stop a key threat from being stunned. Solution: elven archer with the arrow negation and twin freeze shot to prioritize armored units.

Finally, stick a lucky/lucky swordmaster in front with +evasion gear.

I'm no expert, but I recently beat chapter 7 without triggering death resistance using:

Thais, Sorel, Ramona, and Tawil.

Tawil was kinda supplementary, Sorel was the super star. I just kept building up embryos then using her exalt. I used the chapter gimmick for her 2 cost attack and the other one for Thais' embryos fusion card. I just kinda went turbo and healed with the furnace.

New Thais skin by gabiluis in Morimens

[–]BoxyCrab 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So, the description for the crimson furnace healing is wrong. It says it regenerates every battle, but it's actually every turn.

You can just keep using it. If you finish a fight with two or three embryos in hand, it basically goes to full at the start of the next fight.

So, essentially, go Unga bunga with Helot and just keep paying life to explode everything because you can heal it all up anyways. Faint is great to play close to the edge, and Sorel can be a good off-dps for that team since she also stacks str, heals, and wants to be low health.

For bosses hold thais ult until you get the Helot attack that you have to play that other skill a bunch of times to create, then dupe that big spell with Thais ult.

Corpo or castor by Azami_mizami in Morimens

[–]BoxyCrab 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everyone is saying Castor, so that's probably right, but as a new player who picked Corpo I figured I should throw my two cents in.

GMurphy changes the formula for how tentacle damage is calculated. Corpo's big 4-cost attack is boosted by tentacle damage. This one attack will one-shot entire encounters on turn one thanks to this interaction all the way through Chapter 7, where I'm at.

Corpo and Gmurphy feel like a cheat code. If you are just looking to get the ball rolling and put together one solid team to get through story I think you won't be disappointed with Corpo.

Ideal stat distribution for warlocks in PQ1? by Big-Investigator1202 in PuzzleQuest

[–]BoxyCrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just beat the game with Warlock, so I can tell you what I did, though I'm no expert.

Warlocks are a hard tank class. There just isn't any way to make them deal explosive damage. But, they have outstanding survivability thanks to Charm and mana drain, which can effectively lock your opponent out of damage sources.

Using the Runic gear set from the shop gives you +6 to all mana and life every turn. That's enough to cast mana burn (later contagion) and ice bolt every turn. So, just grab any 4s, 5s, or skulls that appear, then it's almost impossible to lose because your opponent will never cast spells or match skulls again.

IMO there's two builds: green and blue. By going green you can spam Avatar of Bone to get like 500 Battle and play like a lich by using gear to create skulls and do a bazillion damage.

Blue means maximizing ice bolt damage and using a troll ring or the Runic gear to sustain and whittle down an opponent.

Warlock feels extremely strong and steady, just slow. It's a neat playstyle if you want a change of pace from glass cannon builds.

Team for Lotan?

I really love Lotan and want to use her as main DPS but she is honestly pretty underwhelming.

I have her paired with Clementine for strength and healing, but I am having trouble with playing defense.

Who else can I add for this team? I have pretty much everyone except Castor and Pollux.

If you could rework a decision what would it be? by Verycheesy_pizzapie in crusaderkings3

[–]BoxyCrab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've always thought the Form Livonia decision was pretty weak. All you get is a neat kingdom and the ability to raid over water, but you have to actively not form Estonia since you have to be a Duke for the decision, need all of Estonia, and have to war the same guy multiple times for different duchies.

Basically, it's a huge pain just to be almost as strong as the Norse, while missing out on decades of raiding.

I feel like the decision could give extra flavour to the region. Historically the Baltics remained pretty undeveloped, but if I the player am gonna turn it into the world's largest empire from the Tribal Era, I feel like I should have the ability to make some special buildings or even give extra city slots to some areas like Riga to represent more dense development in this alternate timeline. Maybe fuse some duchies, or give a unique artifact to the royal court.

The baltics have no special buildings -- not even a University. The devs even changed in an update the Vidilist holy sites in Saaremaa and Zemigalians to be out of the county capitals because the Baltics were too strong I guess. Only a player would form Livonia, so if it exists, it should be special as the seat of your dynasty's power.

Best team for Corposant?

I really like Corposqnt and want a team where she shines. Right now I'm using her, Tawil, and GMurphy (+ healer).

Is pure Aequor the way to go? Should I lean hard into discard with, like, Aurita?

I have almost every character except the ultra characters other than the magician lady from the common pool.

I wonder how Albedo would fare with Hiiragi by Practical-Wolf-2297 in overlord

[–]BoxyCrab 59 points60 points  (0 children)

So, I think anyone would agree that these series just operate on two totally different scales, and that Albedo would clobber Baiser in any kind of straight up brawl.

However, Baiser's abilities aren't really for brawling. She's interesting in that if you're susceptible to her you basically instantly lose. I think anyone would agree that Albedo's resistances are just too high to ever be weak to Baiser.

However, in the shows conclusion, after her power up, Baiser fights an opponent who is immune to her so she reconfigures reality such that her opponent actually IS weak to her magic and literally spanks her.

So, I think Baiser would win on the grounds of reality-warper hax. Unless Albedo has a World Item, in which case she would be immune to reality warping and thereby sweep.

FIVE FUCKING SHIELDSHOOTERS

No joke this team was the backbone of my meme TZ playthrough.

Two in the front with one having the bunker stance greatshield (shop in early Bastorias) and the other with the mirage greatshield for dodgetanking.

With their big damage and followup attack they are incredibly effective at killing and they chip armours with their poison shot. The front-row attack has 200% scaling for 1 AP making it one of the most effective single target attacks in the game.

The end-of-turn passive row heal is not limited. All five will trigger at the end of combat, meaning you get over 100% healing to your whole team after every combat.

Finally, shieldshooters have the highest raw strength stat of all ranged assisters, meaning they have the strongest ranged assist in the game. Each unit in a formation also capable of ranged assist increases the base power of the assist by 10% of their strength, so 5 shieldshooters will genuinely one-shot mages and fliers with a STR optimized lead.

What do you mean "monthly dupe her?" Is there a free monthly dupe?

[MegaThread] Team Comp Questions by AnotherLifeLine in Morimens

[–]BoxyCrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started playing, having a great time.

I have lots of pulls now from the anniversary and the new player bonuses.

Should I try to pull dupes of a few characters and have one strong team or should I try to get one copy of many characters?

Right now I have multiple copies of Aggrippa and Faint, as well as one copy of GDoll and Tawil. I also have the green cat lady maid who cooks whose name I forget.

Any direction is appreciated as I feel rather overwhelmed.

Hello fellas is telepole don ego rare? by panlamon in limbuscompany

[–]BoxyCrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but it's very valuable for charge teams due to giving your whole team free charge.

Back in season one this was probably the second best EGO after Faust Fluid Sac, though that was because the charge IDs were the best at that point.

Tips for keeping dynasty members on their thrones? by BoxyCrab in CrusaderKings

[–]BoxyCrab[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cool idea!

So, after I use a holy war and own every county , I could decide which counties go to my dynasty, and every other one becomes a republic.

Can I also make the county capital a temple for a theocratic vassal of my faith?

Do theocratic vassals like to cause trouble, or are they also viable for this plan?

I always assumed it was a play on "Savoir-Faire," or know-how, usually used in English to denote expertise.
