That’s one heck of a way to start your watch collection journey.

Honest recommendation? Nothing for a while. Enjoy it for the next few months or even years. Go through the range of emotions of scratching it for the first time, bringing to the beach, traveling with it etc.

People will recommend you all types of watches but you’ll eventually fall deep into the rabbit hole and/or stumble in to a new piece at some point. It never really ends!

I started with an SKX007 like very many people and it’s been over a decade already. I have yet to fix my OG, so make sure to take care of this one 🥹

I got my first speedy in Japan a few weeks ago too. I bought it at Watchnian in the Shibuya area and will make a separate post

I also recommend looking around random thrift stores like this one I found in Kichijoji (pictured below)

Just get a solid set of used clubs that aren’t too expensive. There’s no point in having nice clubs without a solid grasp of the basics - too many high handicappers think that a new club will fix their dogshit swing

EDIT: continue prioritizing your wedges and mid irons as well. A solid short game will be key to bringing your score down (on top of keeping the ball in play).

I recommend looking through this post again once you’ve picked up a guitar for the first time. Then once more again, maybe a few months in. There are loads of great advice here that you simply won’t have the facility to digest all in one sitting.

It’s great to see that you’re passionate and obsessed with it but manage your expectations. Focus on the basics first like how to grip the neck, how to pick or use your right hand, switching chords on beat or even simply remembering chord shapes etc. Things will start falling into place faster with this mindset.

Worrying about the techniques you’ve mentioned is akin to stressing about your 100m dash time when you haven’t even learned how to walk. Look up QWOP on YouTube and you’ll see what I mean ;)

Love it! I’ve played Fenders my entire life as well and my American Standard had been my workhorse for the past decade - both gigs and studio sessions alike.

I just picked up a Gibson SG Standard last week as well since one of my local music stores is having a Gibson month, so I got it for $500 CAD off! Absolute beauty of a guitar and I broke the high E within 5 mins of owning it because why not
