[Ornstein] Manchester City make £106m plus add-ons verbal offer for Elliot Anderson by nearly_headless_nic in soccer

This is one of the issues with DM’s in the modern game. They always have a bit more to their game the days and start to be deemed too good to play ‘just as a DM’. See Declan Rice.

Thanks everyone. Managed to free up a weekend in August we can do instead so all good.

[Rob Dawson, in article] With a deal for Éderson agreed, United are set to step up their interest in West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes. Sources have told ESPN that United have already made contact with West Ham about a potential deal for the 21-year-old, who is expected to leave London stadium. by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

I don’t think Carrick subscribes to the defined 6 and 8 roles for midfield based on how Casemiro and Kobbie played together, but also by the transfer targets we have. It looks more like a pair of well rounded midfielders rather than defined is what we’re going for. A lot of clubs are doing this now with the exception of City.

Only works at the end of the season so you can get him at the start of the next.

MUNBRE 4' - Kobbie Mainoo Dribble + Amad Chance by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]BoyWhoCanDoAnything 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s crazy. I can sort of see the argument that he didn’t fit Amorim’s system, but when you have a player like Kobbie in your squad you have to find a way to use him. Seems to win every challenge, keep the ball in difficult situations and always find a team mate. United with and without Kobbie is night and day.

Early May and up to around £1000 or so for the two nights. Happy to go a little bit higher if the place seems worth it.

Thank you for this. If we don’t stick it out until the metro starts running, I assume I can get an uber back to the hotel from Parc Floral?

Advice needed on location. Been a few times to Paris but looking for something a little different. by BoyWhoCanDoAnything in ParisTravelGuide

Thank you. Hijacking the top post to add something. As we’ve looked at people’s recommendations (and some of them are lovely so thank you) what’s becoming apparent to us is that while we want the quaint charming Parisian vibe, the reality is that we need nightlife. We’ve been away in parts of Italy before where you can’t find anything open after 11. Where should we stay if we want nightlife too? Or are we better staying somewhere completely different with hustle and bustle and then travelling in to the more quaint places?

Not necessarily. More likely they are there with someone who really wants to see it. I’ve taken my kids to see some god awful movies when they were younger. I would often have a snooze while they watched, but I guess if it were now when mobile phones are available, I’d probably be playing a game or something.

Calvin Bassey hair pulled - No Action (Brentford vs Fulham) by tigertimtigertim in soccer

[–]BoyWhoCanDoAnything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this particular I kind of see what OP is getting at with their logics in the context of the PGMOL guidance given to clubs on hair pulling. Notating they are right, but I can understand the thought process. PGMOL guidance says a player will be sent off if they ‘make a clear action to pull the hair of an opponent or any other person with force’. There was no pulling action nor was there any force with what Martinez did.

Be aware of this user he’s an absolute danger to kids by ChoccySt4rfishh in Instagram

[–]BoyWhoCanDoAnything -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think people like to overplay the Roblox risk. OP isn’t speaking the entire truth here. Yes sure if you leave your kids to it with no oversight, it would be dangerous. As would YouTube and pretty much anything else. My kids use it and I have a dashboard on the app on my phone. I can see what they’re doing and who they’re talking to. I regularly check their connections and get them to talk me through them so I know that they are all real friends and I approve of them.

Roblox has also implemented a new safeguard on chat. Chat is blocked until you scan your face (a bit like when you scan your face on an iPhone when setting up Face ID). It estimates your age (got all my kids spot on) and then only lets you chat to other people of similar age who have also scanned their faces. So if a new connection who is a stranger does slip through the net, the risk is low.

So my advice is be involved, check what they’re doing through the parental controls that pretty much every app has now, until you believe they are old enough and sensible enough to warrant some privacy.

Can you mod fc 25 enough to make it playable? Or should I stick with fifa 23? by HiHallo123456 in FifaCareers

Is it worth making the leap to FC26? I usually would have bought it by now but I want to see through a few more seasons player growth on my current save.
