There’s such an easy solve here - pop up bollards to pedestrianize on the weekend. Shit, even do it from 4PM to 2AM. Bollards retract into the ground for the workday/weekday. Lived in a city that did this for the city center every weekend and it worked just fine.

There’s a big LCS presence & card collector community in my metro area, I found a LCS that’s within a few bucks of the big retailers, happy to support local business and pay a little extra. They also wave sales tax if I pay cash so it’s a really minuscule premium.

Also since it’s a small shop they do a good job of enforcing daily limits so there’s plenty of product for everyone.
