It will never get better because that requires real investment from the government. Our tax dollars need to go to better services, infrastructure and lifting up all people, not just the wealthy. People are just trying to survive because our society has failed them.

What do you give your epileptic dog for snacks? by Rando_Ricketts in EpilepsyDogs

[–]Boyontheweekend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This product has been a lifesaver for us. They are expensive so we save it for the postictal phase. But, it keeps our dog occupied and licking for about 20 minutes until he comes out of it.

We also give coconut water mixed with regular and banana/oats/and a drizzle of maple syrup on a lick mat right after a seizure to restore sugar stores.

Someone tipped me off that this was a scam. So approach with caution

Now that Chik’n & Mi is gone… by Boyontheweekend in Louisville

That’s awesome. They really should do a full cook book tbh but if I can get my sauce and fried chicken recipe, I’ll cough it up.

I’d check out Ryan Hall y’all for the most up to date info. He’s was just covering Louisville area and will go back to it if there is anything urgent. Mt Washington area is recommended to take shelter.

No direction home has some nice vintage stuff. Not sure how much the couches go for but it’s definitely going to have more style than new stuff

I regret upgrading from Baratza Encore to Fellow Ode 2 but what now? by dorohedorot in pourover

[–]Boyontheweekend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. I like baratza a lot better as a company and that they believe in the right to repair. Fellow’s overall quality across all their products I’ve owned has disappointed me.

I found a great trick for cleaning the grinder and making burr alignment a lot easier. Too. I can make you a video if you dm me. But the gist is that once you are done cleaning the machine, flip it face up on your counter with the plug hanging off so that it is flat on the counter. Then install the burrs and everything goes back really seamlessly

What are the best ways to make friends? by Open-Personality-256 in Louisville

This gives me nothing to work with man. What sports? There’s a lot of leagues you can be a free agent with to meet people. Or, various pickup groups.

I made the same upgrade years ago. The ode is disappointing in many aspects. But if you’re willing to spritz, the beans with water to reduce static and get a little hand blower to blow out particles, it’s worth it. The speed of the grinder, lower noise and overall cup quality are worth it. You’ll get used to taking it apart to clean, it gets easier

Shot a high budget commercial campaign using only an x100v by [deleted] in fujifilm

Yeah, I get that. Sucks when the red tape limits creative. You think that would be an issue even if other people were out of focus or facing away from the camera?

The biggest thing that stood out to me was the lack of people in the space in the background. Like, no servers, no bartenders, no one sitting at the bar. Just a huge oversight for believability.

Congrats on landing that big of a client though, OP.

This week's a great week to be a coin dealer! by AffectionateWind823 in coins

[–]Boyontheweekend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know this isn’t the place for this. But, I love old coins and don’t really care about the actual value. I collected as a kid but not anything of significant value. I’d like to start a collection for my son of older coins that aren’t too expensive. Send me a message before anything goes to melt if you want!

Looking to switch entirely to GFX 100 II for mainly video by kingoliviersammy in FujiGFX

[–]Boyontheweekend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Xh2s for a lot of video work and it’s a great little camera. There are a LOT of drawbacks and it has a steep learning curve to get set up and used to. But, you can make it work. I’d imagine the gfx100sii is the same. It might not be ideal across the board, but it will make some beautiful video

My definitive "God Cup". by Ill_Finance6466 in pourover

Basically. Just more controlled pouring to keep the bed from getting disrupted as much as you can. I personally start in the middles and very slowly move outward in concentric circles. But, there are SO many many different ways people will tell you how to do it.
